Default Tools I find useful for outdoor patches
These are the tools I use for my outdoor patches, all of this can can easily be concealed into a backpack, except the pick. The shovel is a chinese military shovel, and is maybe two feet long, I find it very useful for clearing an area out fast since the egde will go right through anything. I like the USMC bayonet more than the normal kabar they carry since it is a little bigger and it comes in handy all the time. The pick is the most used tool I carry it makes breaking up the soil a breeze. Of course you always need a bucket to carry water from a river over a distance and last but not least some compost tea I find it is the best thing you could ever add to a garden. Also I have found that stinging nettles and bamboo are the best places to plant for stealth. Hope you found something useful in here

nice little shovel! i keep a full size one at the site for the brunt of my work but i always carry a little fold up shovel i used to use in the marines. It's nice when you want to clear grass or check the soil of an area.

litimus tests are nice to have as well, pretty cheep at pet shops, ph is a major issue with canibus growing as nutrient "lock-out" can accur at high or low ph's making your plant nutrient deficient no matter how much you fert, in fact the ferts just make the ph worse.

i always crush a few gallon milk jugs, so they pack better, and bring them to the site for wattering, also most ferts have instructions showing how much to put in a single gallon, and the jugs make measuring pretty simple.

rope comes in handy so many times, i just recently used mine to get heavy fence accross a stream, simply tied the rope to the fence, threw the rope accross, and then tightroped accross on a fallen branch, and pulled the fence accross via the ever handy rope.

this was a good thread idea Wordz! lets keep it up! what other tools do you fellas find handy and why?

Wire cutters (small ) to cut fence down for access to secured locations.
I use a small hand saw to clear cut a bush for stealth grows.
Hemp rope or brown rope ( 1/6inch ) to tie bundles together around my patch to
make a natural fence to prevent varments and deer.

Binoculars are usefull incase you dont want to phisically walk through 100 yards of bush just too
find out its a bad spot. They are also useful in small growing areas were you may come across someone, just
the other day I was at a location scouting when I saw a white box in the distance. Instead of walking over to it , I pulled out
my binoculars and focused in. A few seconds passed and then I spotted a human. I got on my bike and left right away.

compass, multi tool, bug net for my head, 16 oz spray bottle for organic pesticide spray, 2.5 gallon container for water, liquid nutrients in very small containers (film case size), mountain bike and lock... ALWAYS, Ipod and headphones!!!!!

Obviously early spring and late fall require different tools, but this is whats in my pack for the majority of the season.

I usually try to leave behind my cellphone and wallet if I can, it's always "that one time" that you forget to silence your ringer or lose your wallet, that gets ya!

peace to all, and good luck!

I always bring my portable scanner tuned into the local frequencies with a set of head phones.

I also pack a pick and shovel. Some areas are tuff diggin and the pick definitely makes it alot easier.

( PING, PING, PING nothing but rocks this year)

EDIT: When I come out I always have a fishing pole for good measure.

I would love to use a chainsaw but there's the noise facter.

I use a bow saw and an axe. Though the ax does echo it's not as loud.
