HELP! Outdoor bud rot!

Hello, this is my first post, long time smoker but first real run at outdoor growing this year. So, my dilemma is that there is small signs of bud rot showing in various places of my plants. I picked ALL of the rotting bud away from the plant, and sadly disposed of it. 3 days later, new small signs of budrot showed on even some of the top buds, but mostly inside near the main stem. These plants have close to 2 weeks left to be fully finished, and still require flushing, as there is tons of Nutes in the soil (5 days).

My question to all the guru grower's out there, is should I be chopping right away? It has frosted a few nights all ready. But the weather is going to have frost warnings, (3-5 degrees CELSIUS), No rain in the forecast and 12-20 degrees celsius during the day. I dont want to lose anymore, but I would like to see them finish and flushed properly for the best taste.

sadly bud rot wont go away, but idk theres only a few weeks left so maybe hold in there and hope for the best!

But, do you think that the temperature's are going to destroy the bud that I have? Will a ground frost freeze roots/kill my plants? In my area its going to be a frost warning for the next couple days, but after that, its calling for decent night's around 7-10 degrees celsius.

sometimes frost is good... but most of the time you want to harvest your plants before the frost...as for bud rot, i was fighting that recently too...i just removed the bud and let the plants dry out a lil...humidity and rain are a bitch together.

I've been battling bud rot for the past 2 weeks. I just pick it off as it shows everyday. i'd rather a little high quality weed than a little more good stuff. I got about 2 weeks left. Just watch the weather and if you can cover them from the rain you'd be a lot better off. Mine are about 10ft.

your roots will be fine, just got to worry about the plant itself, cover up at night.

even blockin from rain wont help that much...moisture is still in the air which is allllll around the plant, after it rains, if you can, put a fan on low setting for a lil while that will help alot.

just sounds like the plant isn't getting enough air? if you've only got a couple weeks left maybe consider trimming a few leaves to let some air in there? And it sounds like you live near me,the temp. conditions your described are almost exactly the same as it is here...with the night being really cold and the days being moderate...watch your plants if they're not purple already they will be...

I went back earlier, and more signs of mold were showing. I think its because they are indoor strains, in a harsh climate.. I just owed up to the fact, that they werent going to live much longer, as the temps were getting lower and humidity plus they were stressed.. So I cut them down. Most of the hairs, 70% or so are brown, and she smells strong.. But I can still smell a bit of ferts in there, I think. We will see when she drys out.

I still have a few beasts I grew from seed, out of a bag of the DANK. They seem to love the weather, as they show very small signs of mold, if any at all. They are big and green, and constantly pointing at the sky. Hopefully they get another 2 weeks.

melkor what does your bud rott look like as i am growing outsdoors at a secondattempt and temps are dropping and it gets really humid.

I would take them now if your seeing more and more bud rot daily then its spreading fast..

oh wow that is one unhappy lady

quick question: if bud rot gets like that, ive seen most people say harvest before it spreads too much- does that mean try and save what young bud you can or does that mean bud with rot is smoke-able? wait is really young bud smoke-able?

There are several "fungicide" spray products out there on the shelves that work well to prevent and eliminate fungus and mold etc. I use a product called "Captan" for clones and anytime I might feel the buds are in danger to mold. Here's a link.. Note: Captan is not available in all US states...

Thanks for the "beautiful" pictures of the bud rot, Mine was not as severe, but there was plenty of signs showing, that it could get worse, and I didnt really want that to happen.

CapnQwerty: Do not smoke mold, jesus, please DO NOT, smoke mold. Thats what bud rot is. Cut your losses, and try to make the best of it. I was lucky that the plants needed maybe another week if that.

Thomjefferson: ARe the products you use efficient? I tried a "natural" immune system treatment, made by Dr. Hornby called "Scorpion Juice". We gave it to them very late tho, 3 weeks before cutting down.. We didnt see any change in the immune systems, as plenty of mold was still showing. We also fed this to the plant, just like our nutes, direct to the pot, mixed and diluted in water.

In the future if you have to cut a plant down early, fill a container with good clean water and clearex if possible. Put the plant in there just like you would flowers in a vase. The plant will still pull water through its system for a coulple days. then move onto hanging it and hoping it dosnt taste like fish emulsion.

i had a bout with bud rott and sadly it wont just go away you could wait it out and be fine or it could completely turn your buds into mush in a matter of days i got this shit that you dilute and spray your plant with and it will keep the mold to a minimum like it doesnt spread i know alot of people wouldnt want to douse there plants with this kind of treatment but it worked real good kept it at bay for a week to alow for a flush then i hacked em down and salvaged what i could sadly i cant remember the name of the stuff but it is in a green bottle im sure if you visited your local hydroponics store they would have it. and as for final product it tastes fine and great hie lol hope this helps ya out a bit

If it's any comfort to you, I never flush before harvesting. And from what I've read on this site there are a lot of others, well known, extremely knowledgable others, that don't flush either. I have harvested plants that I flushed for a week beforehand and plants that I didn't flush at all, and I couldn't tell the difference, except for the fact that the flushed plant didn't look as good. I always thought that the last week of flowering is when the plant needs nourishment the most to finish up. It has been my experience that Drying and CURING your bud correctly is what smoothes out the smoke and gives it a nice taste. Good luck.
