Default Using homemade Potash
So i watched a video on a grow from OZ who dug out his fire pit and threw the ashes at the base of his plants.

My Parents have been firing the ashes into the garden for years.

So i did some research on making your own potash tea. Turns out all the of the stuff that your plants need disolves instantly in water.

In theory you can take your ash, put it in a bucket of water, stir, strain, water plants.

I did this last night. Made a fucking mess, however, i did get some nice stinky brown water to water one of my plants with. I should have made notes.

Was wondering if anyone has done this before? What was their system and did it help.

On a fun fact note, in my research i found out that the ash isn't burnt wood. I always assumed that the ashes were what happens to wood when it burns. Ash is actually all the minerals and compounds in the wood that arn't flammable. Its just unflammable material, doesn't burn, so is the only thing that remains. I thought that was kinda neat.

You need to use the ashes from Hardwood (oak, hickory, etc) they have the most mineral content. Avoid Pine and other soft woods.

One coffee cup full of ash to one gallon of water, drop in a coffee cup full of used coffee grounds: to level out the PH. Let sit for a few hours. Strain thru a screen, or coffee filter. Pour around your main stem, 6 inches out from it. Use if for about 6 to 8 plants. Never pour it right on or real close to the main stem. U will avoid PH shock if you follow my instructions. Don't do it more than once a month. It works best before flowering starts. After flowering starts - don't. Poor Man's Micro Blast - shh don't tell GH I told u. I hear they have their own hitmen, looking for DIY guys.. Big Oil & Big Ferts want all our money.

nuff said.

Wood ash is a nice instrument for the microbial symphony to use, yet one instrument only. Hard to get a standing ovation from the dank crowd for a one man band.

Peace, Love, Multi-ingrediant tea's and soil microbes galore.

Yeah, I agree homemade trash can tea is hard to beat. I grow comfrey in a field near my house. I soak it in water for a week, add some composted chicken manure and worm castings. It makes my Weed shoot straight up.
I tried it side by side, with some "Grow Big" once a guy gave me. My mix beat it hands down.
For all you guys wasting your time buying those high dollars ferts, all natural is much better. Hell you don't have to be a farmer or rancher to get good chicken shit, cow manure or worm castings. Most Lowes or Home Depots carry them.

I just wish I had some of that Spice from Dune. I bet that would grow some extra Chronic Bud. Wink, Wink LOL
