Default Youghart?
Hello all. Would youghart work well as an organic fert? I was looking at the pots yesterday and discovered that they have Potassium and Phosperate aswell as some other bits and bobs. Seems like a good way to fert to me, due to the fact its got the 'friendly' bacteria and its alive, they say.

Any advice? Would it have to be all natural or is the flavoured 'healthy' stuff fine with the small chunks of fruit? How would you put it on/in the plant? Some in water and stir or just put a dollop on the soil? Thanks in advance!

just be careful with the miracle grow because it is really easy to burn the plants. I tried it and worked fine as long as you go real light.

Compost Pile. I live in a very urbanized area and I have a compost pile. Away from civilization should be a good place for one.
I really don't know for sure, but I have seen skim milk suggested.
Miracle Grow? Personally would suggest anything over miracle grow, even yogurt. This is an organic forum,do not be misled:Miracle Grow is not organic.
O.K. I'm searching now....
Didn't find any thing bad about it other than it breaks down VERY ACIDIC, Dolomite lime would be considered very necessary if I ever were to use it. I've heard of worse things suggested to grow pot. I've heard of better too. Toxi's reasoning is not all that unsound, the acidity could be a big issue though.

.
Adapt, Improvise, Overcome - Do not accept defeat - or you are already defeated.
.
Alfalfa pellets - available at the feedstore, pet store or Wally world - a feed for bunny rabbits. NPK 2-4-2 Put one cup in a old sock, wack em' with a hammer. Mix to one gallon of soil, or one gallon of water (let sit overnight) water in.

Molasses - Briar Rabbit Brand - available in the cereal isle, next to pancake syrups. NPK 5-1-3 Mix one ounce to one gallon of water; water in.

Worm Castings - manure of red or earthworms. NPK 1-0-0 Google search - Vermicomposting... Mix straight in or make a tea.

Rabbit Manure - some one in your neighborhood probably has a pet rabbit.
NPK 2.4-1-2 Sun dry or Compost. Mix one cup in a gallon of soil or mix with one gallon of water (let sit overnight) water in.

Get on Ebay - search - Organic Fertilizer - buy worm castings, bat guano, plant tonics - you name it - Shipped to your door - saves gas money & time.
.
Keep it Real... Organic

Yogurt is a definite No, No. Also, do not put chemically made fertilizers (like miracle grow) in your compost - they will kill the little microorganisms necessary to break down the material in your compost pile or container. Throw in Alfalfa Pellets (bunny rabbit food) to jump start your pile, or Rabbit Manure. Remember, layer your Browns (leaves), Greens (grass clippings), Moisten, & Turn. Pretty Simple. Stay away from fats, milk products & meat - all will attract rodents, flies & opossums..
