I just finished up a Low Ryder 2 grow. I thought I'd just share, for those who were wondering. LR2 is a better yielding, better smoking plant - compared to the orginal Low Ryder. Plant size depends largely, on pot size. Grown in a 4 inch pot - you get a 6 inch tall, 4 inch wide plant. Grown in a 3 gallon pot, you get a 20-24 inch tall, 12-20 inch wide plant.
. It grows best with 16-18 hours of light, throughout the entire grow. No need to flip the lights to 12/12. It grows & switches to flowering regardless of what you do with the lights. Males show there ugly heads first (2 at 17 days, 3 at 19 days.) I had Five females (2 at 20 days, 3 at 22 days). From seed to harvest (60-65 days total). I harvested one a day, starting on the 60th day. . The smoke is very smooth & uplifting, like old school Skunk. The little buds get real frostie. I will be starting another run here soon. I will post a grow diary on this grow. The average yield per plant was 22 grams dried bud; using just a 250 HPS. Many people are using CFL lights, saying they don't even need a HPS. This time I will do half outside, the other half under lights; to determine if light intensity even matters. . Now, I know what your going to say - " Was that it ". Yes, but really decent smoke - one or two puffs & your there. The stuff grows so low to the ground - I truly doubt deputy dog - crusing by in his copter could see it. What is lacks in weight it makes up for in turn around time. . I will do several, test plots this go around, to determine the average male to female ratio, if light intensity matters..etc.. I've been told it is usually 50/50 or 60/40 male to female, regardless of soil, nutrients, light or temperature. We shall see.... Note to DEA: If you are reading this post, I am completely insane - locked up in a Mental Ward - in Fiji. So, ignore this I'm out of your jurisdiction... Mate.... |

Grassroots... I only did five last go round. I seeded one, so lost some on the yield there. It's a neat little plant and a real decent smoke. The HPS light I used was an old backup - bulb had lots of hours on it. This go round, it will have a fresh bulb. I'll probably do eight girls under this light to compare how they perform, compared to the last batch. The first pics I post will be under shop lights - I always use them to start.

Grassroots.. Since that grow. I did five outdoors. Four survived, one got taken down by an Armadillo digging for worms. He's now feeding them... The cycle of life & justice. Click, Click, Boom... The ones I did outdoors all frosted and filled out nicely. I am unsure of the final yield... since, I took some from each plant - for the last three weeks. My box was dry & I was impatient.. It happens....

Yes.. they would be perfect in an aerogarden setup. They don't need much room. Once you start them, you know pretty quick where you stand. I've gotten about 50/50 on males/females so far - every time I grown them. I hear that's the norm. . At only 17-20 days - you know for sure. The males kick out little nut sacks like crazy. So, no chance of mistaking them for a girl. Once the ladies start showing their stuff (20-22 days), they frost up real nice - lots of hairs - lots of sugar. Just in a small package. . I got mine from the Attitude Seedbank in bloody old England. I don't own stock in their company - just thought I'd give them a plug. They have good service, everything arrived discretely & they all germinated. So, I'll give them some credit for that. . Well, got to go.. Type at you later.... . |
