so i read that western PA has some of the most acidic rain in the country. anyway, i was wondering how i could make the soil more alkaline. because the soil is probably too acidic and acidic soil equals males. can i use a mixture of baking soda and water or maybe sum calcium pills? my plant is about 1 foot high.

i dunno, how do i check? i dont have one of those ph tester gizmos.

To check your soil ph you will need to get one of "those ph tester gizmos". You can get a combo tester that is a soil moisture, darkness, and ph tester all in one for a pretty good price. Check ebay, thats where I got mine.

you can also check the local hardware, wal-mart, lowes etc. i saw a test kit for $5 that will give you all the info you need about your soil.
