So everybody is crazy about fox farm's ocean forest mix. I have never tried it, I've always stuck with mg/schultz.. I thought this was my only choice b/c walmart and lowes don't sell ocean forest. But foxfarmfertilizers has a map where you can click your state then the city and retaliers show up. This has been very helpful and i intent to pick some up. Do you guys use ocean forest?? How is it? Bat guano, 6.3-6.8 ph and worm castings sounds good to me. The site recommends their bloom juice to add when plants get bigger. So what kind of results have ya had?

I'm new to the grow game myself but recently made the transfer from MG to FF Ocean Forest and the difference is explosive. Pair that with some Fox Farm nutes and your plants wont be able to thank you enough.

Also a big newbie here. I had been using MG with mixed results. One plant was awesome but the other two were just kinda meh and it's too soon to tell on the second batch. They got hit at the worst time with some heat issues so they're taking an extra week to bounce back.

I just bought some Fox Farm Ocean Forest and will be planting the next batch in that when I move my current few to the flowering stage. I also bought some Botanicare grow and bloom fertilizers instead of the Fox Farm stuff because the Hydro shop guy had a real hard on for that brand. I figure he knows more than me for sure so I'll give him a chance and if he lied to me just to sell me some crap it will be a valuable $30 lesson.

We kept talking about growing "herbs" and he was saying he uses it at home to grow his own "herb." It was pretty clear we knew exactly what each other were talking about but it was funny as hell thinking about the conversation in retrospect.

We'd each emphasize the word herb when ever we said it.

Me, "I plan on growing some cooking HERBS what soil and fertilizer would you suggest?"

Him, "Oh, well I grow my own HERB at home and this is what I use..."

Funny as shit... plus I'm imbibing now so...

I'm growing mine in organic soil with worm castings and they're LOVING it! I put worm castings on all my plants (legal and otherwise, I'm growing flowers, herbs, and veggies too) and it's just insane. My roses are blooming like MANIACS. I've had these rosebushes for three years and I'd say they're blooming twice as much as they ever have. My basil is out of control. My babies got attacked by squirrels early on but they're coming back brilliantly. So yay go worm castings!! That's the only fertilizer I'm using right now. When they start flowering I plan to go to bat guano, as a medical grower friend swears by it. I want to do this as easily and with as few "ingredients" as possible.

Sorry for a small tangent but why do we have so many names for poop? It's not a worm "casing," it's worm shit. You can't buy a case of worms; ok maybe you can but still. And bat guano, what the hell is a guano? Excuse me, Mr. Guano? Yes? You are full of shit sir!

I love Ocean Forest. It can get expensive and you should try to get a good locally mixed organic alternative but it grows plants man, I used to use a local non peat organic mix and my satoris had alot of yellowing thoughout flower, switching to OF stopped the yellowing and allowed me to acually reduce the amount of nutes I used during flowering. 10/10 from me


Ps Dont get it shipped, its really expensive to ship 40lb bags of soil

fox farms is over priced like wayyyyyyyyyyyyy over priced.you can get the excat same results using much cheaper products.There are many ways to grow diff methods work for diff people. Dont drink the kool aid on fox farm its not bad stuff but it is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too expensive
