Now that's what I'm talkin' about.

Urine is fine, just dilute as was listed above.
However (there's always a butt)! I loaded up my soil before planting--compost, some of our natural soil from under the manzanita, clay (that's what you get if it isn't under the manzanita), blood meal and.. crap, now I forget, I knew that was gonna happen.. oh yeah! Small percentage of coffee grounds because our well water is high in calcium, manganese, and has a little iron in it (as does that clay).
So, what's happened each and every God damned time I succumb to the urge to fertilize, the plants show me how much they dislike it. Leaves lose their gloss, sometimes get brown, crunchy edges, even curl a wee bit. As soon as I give them clean water, they reward me with healthy, vigorous growth.
