I have the same question. If your growing in soil and using organic nutes like Bontanicare bloom and say Sweet? Do you continue to use Sweet through the last 2 weeks of flushing till harvest? Or is it just plain water and cal meg for the last 2 weeks?

i read a few things about flushing organic systems but i have some questions also. i read that you were supposed to give the plants one regular dose of water, then wait for that to be absorbed before giving the plants a gallon of water each, obviously letting it drain out the bottom. they also mentioned that organic growers should repeat that process 24 hours before harvest. my questions are about the time in between. how much water are they given during that period? just continue regularly? and what will be the difference in the end result between plain tap water plants and those given the molasses? does the pH of the water matter during those 2 weeks? parden my newbie questions, im about 4 weeks into my first grow and hope to get pics up soon

Flushing is not nescessary and may effect yields.
Adding the option do you use your normal feeding formula or do you trim it down to 25% strength might garner more votes on your poll. Molasses is used to feed the organisms in the soil, Last edited by Slab; 10-24-2009 at 03:01 PM.. |

I tend to start around 10 days out with a clean ph'd flush, another 4 days later & then no water after that - it helps with the drying process if the plants have used up most of the moisture in the soil and are somewhat dehydrated.
I have been depriving them of light for the last 36 hours and have noticed a marked improvement in potency. BTW, flushing if anything makes your yield better tasting, has nothing to do with quantity as the buds are fully formed by this time. Lastly, this from Ohsogreen that I intend to try soon. Bubble for two days, then give each girl one quart of this mix, via the root zone. . This must be done, three days before the finish / harvest. Do not water afterwards (or add to the reservoir), to ensure maximum flavor is absorbed. GWN |

You are saying that bud does not gain weight once the flowers are fully formed? I disagree strongly, resin production continues once buds are fully formed, that resin has considerable weight which equals greater yields. If fed properly bud does not need to be flushed. Al B Fuct and a ton of other growers on these boards don't flush because they know what they are doing. Pretty sure Ohsogreen doesn't flush either, Last edited by Slab; 10-25-2009 at 10:23 PM.. |

Arjin, Cervantes and a plethora of published professionals agree that this is so. Can you shore-up your statement that leaching reduces harvest with facts? I'll wait. GWN |
