Hmm I am in terrible dilemma I have to make a choice between THREE TGA strains I recently acquired at Hempfest.

Mow the reason being is simply due to that fact I am trying my best to keep the WA medical RCWs. I do realize a case can be made to increase the number of plants. Not sure how to go about that, that is for another thread in the Medical (WA) section.

So since I want to get one started that I can hopefully taste and see what all the rave is by Christmas I am asking those in the know to help me decide.

This is what I have to choose from, if you could only grow one which one. Please only those who know these strains personally reply.
BTW I am going too see how well I can take winner of the consensus on this post into my PHOGS and see just how well she does! Please keep that in mind when deciding.

(The following information ascertain @ http://www.tgagenetics.com/Strains/)

Chernobyl

Trainwreck x Trinity x Jack the Ripper

When I came out west I started on a quest for the best Trainwreck cutting I could find. I was not impressed with the Arcata cutting as it was to tall to slow and to bi-sexual for my taste. I had written off this legendary strain until I came across an amazing plant discovered by Smokescreen. Found inside a bag of dank, of the few seeds I found one female exhibited all of the traits of the famous Trainwreck without producing a single male stamen, even in late flowering. The complex coloring that shows up late in the plant's life is a thing of beauty and the potency of this mother is epic. Extremely potent, smoking just a few bowls is an adventure in respiratory failure and flat lining your brain waves. We decided to combine this incredible female with the genetics of Jack the Ripper.
Phenotypes:Fast growing plants that form multiple towers of buds
Height:Tall
Yield:Medium
Indoor and Outdoor:Does well indoors and gets tremendous outdoors
Best way to grow:Topped early and trained to stay as low as possible
Harvest:8-9 weeks
Sat/Ind:60/40
Hybrid:Train Wreck x Trinity x Jacks Cleaner x Space Queen
High Type:Strong and pleasant, very good for pain relief without paranoia
Taste:Lime slurpee or sherbert

Jack the Ripper

Jacks Cleaner P1 x Space Queen
High Times Top Ten List 2006
Featured in the Big Book of Buds 3, pages 86-89
Jack the Ripper is well named because it is absolutely killer weed. A true 8 week Sativa Haze the first thing growers notice is the incredible lemon smell and heavy resin production. It has been described by UK growers as the best 8 week Haze ever produced.

This plant will produce triangle shaped spear buds that pretty much stopped active calyx growth early and produced copious amounts of resin instead. Resin production was evident from day 12 in 12/12 but really started to fatten up the heads around day 50 or so.

I find it performs best untopped with a long vegetative period. Once you smoke it the high creeps up, at first you may think that its not so strong but then whammo... it hits you hard and there's no turning back... then... you will be deep in thought and meditative for quite some time... the duration and intensity is strong and thought provoking.
Phenotypes:There are 2 main phenotypes both with a Lemon Haze smell and short growth. One of them tends to have more a pine smell
Height:Look for the short phenotype and colas that swell late
Yield:Medium to heavy / Moderate trim work
Indoor and Outdoor
Best way to grow:Untopped and vegged into a full bush
Harvest:8-9 weeks
Sat/Ind:70/30
Hybrid:Pluton x Purple Haze x Lambsbread x NL x Jack Herer x Romulan x Cindy99BCGA
High Type:Intense, trippy, visual, phase shifting, increased heart rate, heavy crash, increased appetite, pain relief, paranoia
Taste:Lemon, mango, pine, hash, with a heavy haze influence

Vortex

High Times Best Sativa 2010 Medical Cup
High Times Top 10 2007
Featured in the Big Book of Buds 4
My oldest head stash crossed with my new favorite. Both parents have a similar pungent, rotten fruit, baby poo smell. Both carry heavy potency and copious amounts of resins. The resulting Hybrid cross fulfills my desire to have Apollo-13 in seed form even before we continue with the cubing. Sharing traits of both mom and dad some females lean so much towards Apollo some smokers can't tell the difference in a blind taste. My favorite female is a sweet and sour girl that to me tasted like Sour Patch candy but I yielded close to 4 ounces with minimum training. She is easier to grow and trim than mom..
Phenotypes:Variation with phenotypes like both parents strains
Height:Short to medium with wide bushing and loads of bud sites perfect for SGROG
Yield:Medium - I pulled 3.5 Ounces from a 40 inch bush
Indoor and Outdoor - Matures quickly
Best way to grow:Wide sagging bush with hundreds of bud sites. Lots of stakes and string
Harvest:50-55 days
Sat/Ind:80/20
Hybrid:Genius x P75 x Romulan x Cindy99
High Type:Heart racing, energizing, confusing, stoned, ripped curled under, stupidity
Taste:Mango Snapple with lemon, tastes like sweetened lemonade
Very unique Cindy like plant with a bizarre twist, very potent

I've only ever grown the Chernobyl of the three above...although I would really like to try Vortex as well... I grew mine outdoors - greenhouse in soil - and the plant became as described above tremendous and with multiple towers of buds. The smoke is pretty much as described too - light citrus and nicely no paranoia. The other TGA strain that I've grown is Jillybean and I liked it but I prefer the Chernobyl punch and lighter taste.

Terrible dilemma. I have JTR and Chernobyl up right now. Just take a leap of faith. You'll something nice from anyone of those amazing, wonderful, potent strains. You know this. How can we pick for you?

GG, so right you are and ultimately I will be doing the choosing just collecting more input before I do so, hoping someone may have an interest as well in the PHOGS system I am using to water and feed my current BC strain.

Knowing that I will be growing some of the best genetics available now that I have finally got my hands on some TGA gear I want to ensure equity when comparing to my Blue Cheese, for that is my only point of reference I have in this particular system. So this should be really exciting to witness the superiority right in front of my very own eyes. So I can't wait to grow each in the same system getting the same light, air, water and nutrients.

It truly will be a side by side grow, can't wait just trying to decide which to compare first too? Hopefully I will get some viable input.

I have never grown any of these strains. With that out of the way, I think you should put them in a hat and plant them in the order you pull them out in. You say you have the best genetics available so they will all be good plants. However I would take time to research each strain and grow the one that suits your needs..I.e Insomnia, Anxiety, Hunger...I dont know
Hopefully you see what i mean! Hope this helped a little bit!

So I am told PLC, so I am told... sure to find how soon how these compare to the Blue Cheese I have currently. Which is smooth good shit, especially when I have compared it to what is available at local medical dispensary. Couldn't find any TGA genetics. So since I have adopted subcool's Super Soil recipe into my Passive Hydroponic Organic Grow System (PHOGS) I decided I needed to try his very best as you notice I believe 2 of the 3 selected are Cup winning strains. You don't win cup with dung but DANK and Dank Swag at that! Anywise can't wait to do a side by side in PHOGS so far looking like Chernobyl is where I am leading. Still taking input I will not draw or do anything by chance. No I would do them all right away if I could but it would compromise my compliance with WA RCWs. Not going there.

So ultimately the decision will probably be 95% based on what I desire determine which would be the best possible strain to as my very first TGA strain. Therefore again looking for input from those who have and if they were going to have to pick one of three to start with which would be the one. It's almost if you could only take one of the three to the a deserted island and could only grow one of the three while stranded there which would it be... but in my case I gave full disclosure to my dilemma.

did you get 5 or 10packs? (hopefully 10, i dunno why anyone would go w 5s) anyway why not pop a few of each then see which you like like growing most and compare to which you like smoking most and then pop the rest of the pack to look for a keeper?

petty much no matter what you decide with you wont be disappointed

MG...

Regardless if I have 5 or 10 or 20 of each, my dilemma remains, only room to start one, to remain in compliance with WA RCW's for medical grow, as I mentioned earlier in this thread like at the beginning... :eyesmoke:

Not trying to start anything here, but what exactly has lead you to this conclusion?

I hope you're blown away by what you find.

I've grown a couple of his strains, and smoked many more and I think there are some pretty good phenos to be found. I found a nice grapey/cheesy Cheesequake that I still have in my garden. It's not the most potent thing I've smoked, but it's pretty easy to grow, looks nice (impressive trichome production), and smells really good. IMO, that's what you should expect from TGA. An easy to work with plant. Healthy, vigorous growth, etc. Good trichome production. The buds look pretty, and the trichome coverage is impressive. Good hash plants. They will smell great. Every plant I've grown from them has smelled fantastic. Lots of fruity tones. The downside to me is potency. Not necessarily a "down side", but it's the one area that left me wanting more.

Some broad generalizations I know, but that has been my experience with TGA strains.

Best of luck with your grow

yeah i read that but i figured you meant one strain. so from this are you saying that youre just going to grow one plant? or if multiple plants how many you going to grow?

lets say you can grow 6... what im saying is why not grow 2 of each? when i mentioned trying out them all i didnt mean pop every seed you had

I do just have one strain, but it is in a perpetual grow system right now. Where I am flowering 4 at a time I have the others (10) in two more set's of 4 in different stages, so the next set of four are vegging will replace four in flower. The other 4 are clones I've taken of the vegging 4 growing and training those for mainline and they will veg when I put the next four in flower. So 12 of 15 being used in that cycle. I keep a mother of strain in case something fails in my cloning of clones. I always take 5 clones instead of 4 of my veggging clones and use the best 4 after cloning when going into further mainling training and final veg state before flowering.

In all of this leaves one space to grow another strain and take clones from it to place into my perpetual cycle.

Ultimately my answer is a collective, therefore I am searching for other medical patients that will be part of it, thus increasing what the collective can have.
