i pretty sure azamax does destroy your microbes, but i might be wrong so you need another opinion.
Hi, I am wondering if using azamax to drench my soil (before the fungus gnat becomes a problem) would kill the microbes population that I am working so hard on getting up.
How about neem cake in my soil, or even in my compost tea, would it go against the goal? (I like to experiment and use all kinds of amendments in my teas)
I am wondering this because I was talking to someone with excellent compost tea knowledge and she found it was odd that I had used neem cake in my teas because she thought it would be killing microbes. So I am a bit confuse about neem cake and all and I would appreciate any comments/inputs. thanks.

it may not destroy your soil food web, but it sure as hell dont help it any. you could do a soil dreanch than aplly a tea after words, or top drees with good soil
ORGANIC
so how about neem cake though? I dont understand who would want to use an organic fertilizer (mine is 4-2-1) if its not good for the soil there is got to be more to it... now I am not too keen on using azamax anyway but I really thought neemcake was a great amendment for my supersoil for its benefits to protect the roots from bugs and I also love the smell of neem cake and cant help but to think it improves the taste of my pot.
please more input on using neemcake for growing marijuana would be greatly appreciated.

so far I found this on some forum, dunno where its from or if the information is true, its interesting but does not answer my question about using it in compost tea.
Concerned that neem oil may harm earthworms? Many people are when they first start using neem oil for pest control. But I have good news for you:Neem products definitely don't hurt earthworms. In fact, neem seems to be good for earthworms!Neem products are used to improve soils in India and other countries where neem grows. The neem product used as soil conditioner is called neem cake.Neem cake is the solid residue that is left after neem seed kernels have been crushed to extract neem oil. Now, all parts of the neem tree contain the active ingredients, though in varying concentrations. That means, even if neem cake has been thoroughly deoiled, it still contains all the active substances in the dry matter that's left. And that dry matter improves soils, increases the number of beneficial organisms and helps protect plants from soil born pests and diseases. (It also increases soil fertility and prevents nitrification, the loss of nitrogen, but that's a different topic...)Farmers know from experience that neem cake stimulates earthworm activity. Earthworms do great in soils treated with neem cake.Researchers have also done some studies to get hard numbers and facts regarding neem and earthworms. Here is what they found:Either neem leaves or neem seed kernels were ground and then added to the potting soil in a greenhouse. Voila, the number of earthworms in the soil increased by 25% (Rössner and Zebitz, 1987).In a similar field trial various neem products were added to the soil. There was a very short lived repellency effect. The worms did not move into the soil as fast as they moved into untreated soil. But once the worms entered the soil they grew a lot better. The number of earthworms was the same as in untreated soil, but the weight of the worms in the neem treated soil was higher (Rössner and Zebitz, 1987).Researchers even vermicomposted neem itself. The worms loved the neem, fed on it voraciously, and as a result grew a lot faster and multiplied more than if fed with mango leaves (Gajalakshmi and Abbasi, 2004).Use as much neem as you like, in whichever way you like. Neem can only do your earthworms good!

Click on: Perry's America then click-on products. On the right side you will see all of their products. Click the 1.5% EC. These are the people that make AzaMax (different bottle for General Hydroponics)(triple the price thank you). All of it is Bio friendly. The fact that they make neem cake with the Azadirachtin in it proves that.
I guess what I am most worry about now is it being a fungicide, dont we want good fungi in our soil / compost tea as well^?

why not make a AACT using your soil, and once it starts to foam add some Azamax and see whats happens?
“Your soil is alive so quit treating it like dirt”
been going over this for days... as far as i know.. NEEM in the soil WILL KILL bennies and pests alike!
just use neem oil as a faoliar spray a couple times through out your cycle and spray the tops and outside of pots.
do a tea a day or two after to replenish.
no need to drench if doing things properly.

ok I guess I will have to experiment with neem some more. I love the smell of neem cake and all and its got a lot of benefits that comes with it, only it might be too good,... time will tell !
If anyone has anything else to say about using neem cake in soil/compost tea, please go ahead and do so! until then I will keep experimenting with it in my gardens.
thanks to everyone that chipped in so far.
