    Default Organic DWC?

I've been experimenting with compost tea this year and I have a pretty good brew recipe.

My bucket has two 4" airstones in the bottom and a 1.5" spherical airstone that goes right in the compost bag. I fill a paint filter bag with a half cup EWC, a cup of alpaca manure (dried beans. the wet manure makes a sludgy mess) and a tbsp of azomite. I feed the bucket a tbsp of molasses a day so the bacteria can eat. I wanted to convert my tea bucket into an organic DWC by just putting the net pot right on the top. Has anyone ever tried running a DWC with organics? The NPK value of alpaca manure is 1.5-0.2-1.1 which is higher than other livestock manure, yet it can't burn your plants so I think it would be the perfect nute. I would use crawfish shells during the veg to provide more N and P. Do you guys think it will work?

I have never ran a DWC with teas/manure are your speaking of. On the other hand I am running some DWC totes "SOG" with earth Juice an Organic nute line and my girls love it. Im running a 10gal tote with 6 girls in one. Yes it can be looked at as a bubbler/DWC but it works great.

Cool, I was happy to see that someone else has tried organics in their DWC. I was worried about mostly about fungus and bacterial growth, but it seems to be doing ok. There is very little root growth to speak of, but this is only day 2 since I dropped in the net pot. It's outdoors so it's getting plenty of light, and I'll tell ya, the smell is pretty haggard, but that'll make for some tasty buds! I have only been using Buddha bloom and Superthrive for nutes. I'm reluctant to use the manure because of how much sludge it produces, and I fear it may deprive the roots of the air they need if it gets to built up.

Build up is a little bit of a problem but not bad. I just make sure I have all my cleaning material on deck "since your outside it will be a breeze" and give the rez a and air stones a good cleaning.... simply spraying them down with a hose knocking off all the build up and little bubbles, and off to the races I go again. I only clean the rez after I run the nutes through it, and I dont even do it everytime. You will be able to judge when you need to clean the rez once you get going, but usually I do it about every 10-14 days depending on the stage of the plant and water/nute uptake. As far as the root go no worries they will take off!!!! happy growing

I will try and remember to get some pics up tonight. If you can picture a waterfarm you pretty much have the image or if you go look at stealthhydroponics.com and look at their bubbler, I have something similar.

I have to go to work in a little while here, but I'll get some pics up this evening. I switched from using just ROOTS Buddha Grow to using half strength ROOTS and threw some alpaca beans in there. Not much has changed as far as growth and the little 5" thing has already started to bud. I started way late for this experiment. It's just discouraging because its been over a week and I'm not seeing much difference. I'll just let it do its thing and hopefully I'll start seeing results.
