hey, im getting onto my 2nd week of growing and was wondering what is a good nute for the veg process that is organic? as far as soil goes, im using a mix of Fox Farm Ocean Forest, Light warrior, and some perlite, and they are in jiffy cups. The other nutes im gonna be using is the organic nutes from fox farm that dont have any synthetic or EDTA. but other suggestions for better nutes is alway welcomed.

Im using general organics right now with AMAZING results! The stuff is great, Im only using the grow formula; no bio root, no bio weed, not even calmag! (although its in the mail along with bio bud) I use straight tap water thats been sitting for 3 days so theres no chlorine. No ph adjustments are needed, the nutes will adjust the ph. Ive been doing a lot of research and Ive come to the conclusion that Im done with bottled nutes especially organic. If Im growing organic bud from now on Im gonna mix my own. Ive been looking into subcools super soil and its an amazing recipe. You have a super-concentrate soil in the bottom half of your finishing pot and regular base potting mix on the top. When the plants are old enough the roots grow into the super-soil and get all the nutes they require. The beautiful part is that the recipe is ph balanced so you can just use plain tap water and you NEVER have to feed again. Just water ever couple days until pay day :D Here is the recipe: (EVERYTHING on here is available cheap on amazon.com)

IMO your better off to go with a brand of soil which does not require supplemental feeding! I use ROOTS ORGANICS and one bag supplies enough nutrients for the longest grows. Trust me you'll be happier with a high energy soil you can add some super charge to later down the road. Rtaher than fox farm stuff which leaches out and causes you to fertilize soil. The whole point of organic soil is not to fertilize. Hope this helps!

I am too using General Organics with Botanicare Readygro mix in airpots, and the plants LOVE IT. You said you are just using the gro formula, I am surprised your plants are thriving with such little nutes! Must be in your medium? Also, I was not aware that the general organics nutes adjusts the ph of the water? I use RO filtered water and always still adjust the ph, because its not at 6 when I add all of my ingredients. How does it adjust the ph automatically?

these were all grown in roots organic with FF liquid trio nutes... i don't think you can use roots organic regular without any nutes whatsoever... unless it's a different mix of roots brand soil.
Are you aware that only one of your FF liquid trio nutes is organic? Which means the other two chemical supplements are destroying the microherd in your Roots Soil, locking you in to buying and adding supplements throughout your grow.

Be it subcool's soil mix or any one of many that are properly prepared to provide nutrients throughout a growing cycle, you can't go wrong and you'll be off the pricey nutrient marketing merry-go-round.

STONEDMETALHEAD I do hear what your saying. And you are right you absolutely can not finish a grow with fox farm soil without supplementation. I did not mean to dissagree for both foxfarm and roots are completely organic. However Roots is an all in one organic compost. if you read the bag it says cut off the top, plant, and water. I was also skeptical at first because most soils known to man need supplementation after a month os so. But i swear to you i just finished a crop and i used roots soil and water for the entire grow. And it worked out great! it ran dry of nutrients right when i went to leach...Ill work on those pics for you!

Nor can you with Roots if you want optimal results. You can stick a plant outside in the ground without adding fertilizer and it will finish but it doesn't mean that it was grown to it's full potential.

All that I'm saying is I use Roots Organic as a base in my soil mix. I add a bunch of guanos, lime, epsom salts, blood meal, bone meal, and worm casting and sometimes I stll need to feed late in flower. How big are your plants? What kind of lights are you using? Maybe your not pushing your plants enough to reach their full potential and your soil is enough but my plants wouldn't last a week in flower with plain Roots soil.

In my organic compost 'teas' w/fertz. I use blood meal, (seabird) Guano & fish emulsion is a good main source for Nitrogen.

I hear you my friend as i know plenty of people who say the same. Im running a 1000 watt HPS and all plants are about 42'' tall. I just cut down my sativa's last week and both were just over three ounces a piece. Roots is pretty good to supp upp i just dont feel the need. Plus my plants get transplanted into a 5 gallon pail just before flowering. I'd imagine this has a lot to do with it holding strong.
