Question New Member Help with medical indoor organic grow
Hello to you all !
I was hoping to get opinions on my first grow in many years. My wife requires canabis for chronic pain and she has a medical script which makes it legal to grow 6 plants by state law. I have grown outdoors in the past organically but it has been a long time. My goal is to get the largest plants and largest yield within the 6 plant guidelines. I have built a ebb and flow unit but have decided to try my first grow with soil using clones. I plan to start clones in 5 gallon buckets filled with foxfarms ocean forest. I have never used this soil but it looks rich and full of lots of organic matter. I also bought foxfarms 3 nutrient system with Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. Doing some reading seems the ocean forest should have enough nutrients to make it to week 4 before feeding ? Then I plan to use foxfarms soil schedule . I plan to veg some white widow for 5 weeks and then bloom for 8 . I plan to use a 400 wt hid for veg and switch to a 1000 wt hps for bloom . Anyone grown white widow indoors and can you tell me the strength of smell compared to others while growing? I will try to keep you all posted on my progress and really have enjoyed the site so far. Do you know if the foxfarms nutes fully organic ? Can you use full organic for hydroponics ebb and flow ?

sounds like you know what you are doing for the most part. i dont believe that fox farms is fully organic... but bat guano and worm castings are, and they are packed with nutrients.

if i was to do a totally organic grow i would use the same soil you have, worm castings and bat guano. for foliar feeding you could make and use compost tea, and you could even fertilize with compost tea.

if you want to go fully organic get some of those items, but there are a lot of people here who only use fox farms and love the stuff. you could easily use fox farms nutes and grow quality cannabis, its just a matter of choice.

good luck and dont worry man, you will soon be producing quality medicine for your wife. good luck to the both of you

also yes you can get fully organic hydro nutes. and if you want to get as much of a yield as you can off those 6 plants, use as much light as possible during flower, the 1000 watt would do great.

my friend grew widow this year and it smelled danky in the room, but it was not uncontrolable. get some good ventilation with carbon filters, or some other method of odor control and you will be fine. i have been in many grow rooms and it seems like white widow smells a lot, but not that much, if at all more than some of the grows i have done/seen with skunk and such.

Thanks for the fast response ! Seems like a great forum! What do you think of northern lights as far as yield per mature female . Any sugestions ona quality strain with very little odor if possible ? Im not worried about the law because we will be totally legal just want to keep the rif raf away ! Ill consider the guano teas and maybe do a 3 foxfarms and 3 guano compare . Thanks again !

Im in Cali !
I Know the white widow is quality hands down . Im just not as schooled as some . If the Northern Light strain was a close second in quality but had much better yields I may go that route ? If numbers wasnt an issue I would just grow multiple varieties . I worked on a small ebb and flow unit today , Im trying different media and different ways to start seeds as a test. Just lettuce right now to get use to the system some. Im considering white widow and lowryder as a first grow in soil.

Pretty sure FF is not certified organic, organic enough in my eyes.
Botanicare IMHO would be my choice, I have used in e&F with great results. went back to soil b/c of consistency and ease.
you are experienced in soil, why not use that knowledge.
you could theoretically make 6 plants have a canopy that would reach the east coast. trelis and trainning can get you huge yields.

Would not think Black Widow would be ideal for pain, NL's I think would be better medicine.
