Earth Friendly Selection Product Description

Two-part mycorrhizal inoculants, Earth Nectar and Earth Ambrosia, are great for soil gardening and hydroponics. When Earth Nectar—containing the concentrated mycorrhizal cultures—is mixed with Earth Ambrosia—the fuel delivery system for the active cultures—they combine to infuse the growing medium with mycorrhizal cultures resulting in stronger plants and increased crop yields. Set of two one-pint bottles.

no loghead , as far as i know EJ does not make "mycorrhizal" or does any of their products contain it. I went round an round with the hydro shop lady about this. She claimed the "microblast" had all the "microbes" we need in it. FALSE a "microbe" is a micro-organizm and microblast is a micro-nutrient . BIG DIFFERENCE . micro-nutes can be found in tap water OR microblast , they are the secondary nutes that plants need besides just the main ones (NPK)........ ok i broke out the bottle for ya , microblast contains .... Magnesium, Boron, Cobalt, Iron, Manganese, Molybdenum, and Zinc. those are all micro-nutes and if u use tap water , most of that shit is already in there. Now if u use RO'ed water then u will need to get some, because there aint shit in RO water. Now for the "microbes" /mycorrhizal .... these are LIVE bactiera/fungi that EAT old roots and food that is left over from watering. i think without any live bacteria the roots get "clogged up" with old food and other dead shit...... when the microbes start eatin all that old shit , it makes the roots "open" and able to take in much more food.....thus making a better root system , and makin a healthy plant. Now most mixes/dirt comes with microbes in it , but since they have a shelf life ....its always better to have some layin around. My mix is Pro-mix w/ mycorrhizal, but the bag was a few years old when i got it , so i added more microbes just a week ago. i am pretty sure that MG mix and Shultz mix both have microbes in um ..... but you have to consider how many times the dirt got wet before u got it, and how long it set on the shelf. So i would go ahead and buy the products in your link ..... just to make sure. when u order the shit leave the seller a lil note askin that the date be checked on the bottles before they send um out , just to make sure its not dead when u get it. (i think the shelf life is about 2 years)

do you mix your Guardian MY in the soil, is that what the mycorrhizal part is in your pro-mix soil? yeah i'm thinking of getting it, or maybe just the same guardian. what what you recommend? you have the guardian, is it easy to maintain? how much did you apply to your soil?

yes it is , so if the soil was not expired (or old) i would not use no extra microbes.

i think there are over 80,000 species of beneficial microbes for plants. You have to pick the one thats best for pot..... i think either of the ones we are talking about are fine. the shit i got come from a respectable company (botnicare) , thats all i can say about it at the time...... i doubt its "better" then the one u showed..... matter of fact, it seems the one u are looking at dont "come alive" until mixed so it might be even better then the one i got ..... they are pretty much the same though.
after the microbes get established then the species WE need will come along.

well since i did not get it till half way through a crop , i had to dig 3 or 4 holes in each pot and just dump it down in there. (just an inch or 2 deep) ...... but on the next ones i just mixed it in the whole pot. (filled the pot up with dirt then add the microbes and just mix it in the top half of the soil)
the back of the LITTLE package says 3/4 of a gram , so i just used my scales on the first one ... and guess the rest
it turns out that i have a measuring spoon that says "just a pinch" and it is exactly 3/4 of a gram , (its proly about 1/4 tsp) so i just stole the spoon from my ol'lady and put it next to my microbes. good luck log!

it looks like EJ makes the stuff u are lookin at ..... but i am not sure .... it is not on their website.
Thats another good thing about "organics" , you can mix different most company's food and it wont hurt nothin, just as long as it is organic. Thats the only reason i dont like using ph up by general hydroponics , because it is not natural so i am kinda scared it will kill my microbes...? not sure yet , i just know when u are useing ALL organics , you dont really worry about mixing the wrong shit.

i think i will get the earth nectar and ambrosia, that way like you said wyteboi that is when they will come alive, plus i can add it to the ej every few weeks maybe 1 month or so for a feeding. i know this is for me to figure out along the way, but what is a good start for a ratio of soil to perlite to worm castings mix?

it depends on if u are using "soil" or "mix" , if just plain hard potting soil then try this:
50% soil
20% worm castings
30% perlite

or even better would be to replace 10 or 15% of the soil with vermiculite .....so 40soil, 10verm......

the mix needs to be nice and "fluffy" or "loose" for good drainage and you would like the mix to dry up in 4 or 5 days or less , (constant moisture will destroy them roots)

PEACE. I have been susbcribed for a minute and I have a question for someone. How does one lower the EJ nutes before application without the natural up and down from the same company? I still haven't read any good suggestions that aren't shot down by one or another. Baking soda and vinegar are the only things that I have and are readily accessible, though I have read on this thread that they are not good.WHY? Any suggestions on a household item that I may have that can raise my pH of the nutes that I am using?

PEACE

THANKS FOR THE ANTICIPATED RESPONSE AND PLUS REP
