Default *** VEGANICS with DR. VonDank ***
I am currently on my 4th VEGANICS grow. I have been very impressed with the results and started working with this method in the pursuit of the cleanest form of medical grade marijuana. I will post pics/product reviews/ and some different techniques that I have used that surround this method. I would also like to discuss this method with other growers thinking about using this method or incorporating parts into their grows. I have had great success with all kinds of methods and understand that there are as many different ways to successfully grow MJ as there are members of RIU---lol. I hope you enjoy the thread... Veganics in a nut shell is growing without any kind of guano(pooooo),animal or fish products. There are a few complete vegan nutes and teas out there---I have used GENERAL HYDROPONICS VEGAN TEA/ CANNA TERRA LINE of nutes. NATURES N/P/K(each one comes in it's own bottle). You can mix your own teas as well. CANNA has a great soilless mix----CANNA TERRA PROFESSIONAL PLUS---You can use it straight out of the bag with great results but I like my mix ultra-loose soo I mix at least 50% perlite in. Roots love looose mediums... You can use alfalfa meal---cotton seed meal----rock phosphates--dolomite lime---soy bean meal---seaweed----paper ash--- and other minerals. Most commercial nutes are plant derived and fermented concentrates. One of the great things about veganics is that you really don't need a ph meter. There is little PH fluctuation in the RHIZOSPHERE zone and you have a larger PH range of availability and assimilation of major-secondary-and micro nutes. You can add your enzymes and your beneficial fungi/bacteria as well. Should have a few pics up in the next days---Pics of a few different strains we're running...

Would that also include worm poo? (wormcastings)

True veganics would not use worm-castings but you can mix both organic methods and veganic methods if you choose-some would argue that since worm-casting comes from worms eating soil that its vegan but I have not used it for my vegan grows but that is by choice. When I first started I thought that I would loose some taste and smell without the use of bat guano(my nute of choice in organics) but I was wrong----BY A LONG MEASURE!!!. The finale product with true veganics is incredible--ultra smooth smoke--beautiful flavor--and intense aroma. In my opinion better than organic. I am still working out all the details since this is only my 4th go with these methods but the results have been fantastic so far. I will get some pics up--I'm on day 30 with------*BURPLE*(BLUE DREAM HAZE X PURPS)------*ORANGE KRUSH*(ORANGE PHENO MAUI X BRAZILLIAN X LANDTRACE HINDU KUSH)---*GODZILLA*(AFGAN X LANDTRACE HINDU KUSH X MOUNTAIN GOAT)----*BLUE DREAM HAZE*(BLUEBERRY X ROMULAN X NEVILLES HAZE)----*STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE*(STRAWBERRY COUGH X UK CHEESE X BLUEBERRY).

LOL---I guess if you were a die-hard vegan than yes. I'm not but I am a purest. I can say that in my opinion from the results so far vegan grown MJ smokes ultra clean and smooth without the loss of aroma/taste/yeild. My yeilds are the same if not better...

lol, that sounds awesome.

But what about killing all that bacteria at the end of the grow? Is that proper husbandry? lol. jk

Also you cant get rid of worm casts! That is some organic sacriledge! Is that really against vegans? Now that I think about it I guess it must be.

LOL---- No need to kill beneficials... In fact I have reused the medium for 3 cycles and it got better with each one!!!--I would have used it a fourth time but the plants from the last grow had such massive roots it would have been more work then using new.---(note): the roots are as brite white at the end of cycles as they are in fresh clones---this method maintains very healthy plants.

If you use worm dung, the vegan police will come and snatch your crops...
