I was just lookin into soil for my next grow and came across a Premium Organic Cactus Mix and was wondering how that would work. It contains pumice, forest products, peat moss, sand, bone meal, cottonseed meal, alfalfa meal, and earthworm castings. All input would be appreciated.

never heard of it but there are those here who will know.

sounds like a good soil aside from the forrest products only because they don't list what the forrest products are, make sure you add about 10-15% perlite and your set.

I've seen that mix also but is it cost effective? Usually it's only available in small bags and expensive since it's a specific soil.

Watch for bug eggs in the soil, nothing nicer to get them to hatch than a drop of h2o and sunlight, plus expensive

Cactus mix is VERY LIGHT as is Fox Farms or Froggy.
IE Where miracle grow will hold 3 gallons of water, fox farms or froggy will not hold 1 entire gallon.

I use Miracle grow moisture control soil. Love it and it makes life so easy. Dirt doesnt dryout and its hard to overwatre and you dont have to feed for first 45 days.I get the big 64 qt bags for about $12 at home depot. Has tro be moisture control the others suck. But if you want upgraded stuff then Peace Of Mind makes good soils or Pot of Gold is good too

Check out this soil less blend..works great...very hard to overwater if using correct container and flushes easy
