Question Flowering PPMs 1000-1800?
I just read that the ppms in flowering need to be between 1000-1800. Does this count for soil?

Now I have kinda asked this before.
I'm trying to mix a nutrients in 2 gallons of water. I want to mix up the right ppms. Now my plants need a little nitrogen mixed in as well. I have FF grow big, FF big bloom, liquid Karma, diamond nector, floralicious plus, kool bloom powder and liquid.

I know that those last two ferts are not organic. Really all I want to know is if I can mix those top five, and how much FF grow big to mix in.

Chumlie..... The ppms recommeded by fert makers are based on chemical tests they used to verify NPK levels. Chem ferts have dyes, pH stablizers and other things which effect ppm. Mineral salts in chem nutes are highly conductive and register easily with your TDS / EC meter.
.
Organic nutes are different, as some of the NPK is bound in carbon or hydrogen chains which effect conductivity. Their readings will vary and change over time. They tend to be less conductive and don't register the bigger numbers, as a rule.
.
.
If using chem nutes, 750 to 850 ppm is a more reasonable feeding level in flowering. Overfeeding, will not produce a better end product. Remember, Mary can retain more Potassium than she needs in plant tissues.
.
Feed her too much Potassium and Yuck, later you'll taste it. You'll end up with only slightly heavier / but definately harsh tasting weed, because you are literally smoking the excess potassium along with the THC.
.
With Nitrogen and Phosphorus, Mary can only take in so much. If excess amounts of N & P are watered into soil, they will leach out promptly, provided the soil is not at toxic levels (from repeated heavy feedings). The occassional flush, when feeding heavy is recommended. Or just sticking to the feed, water, water, feed routine.
.
I prefer starting low, and working upwards. Low, Slow & Steady.....feeding
.
With Organic Nutes, just start at half the recommended mixing strengths on the label and work upwards. Ignore ppm readings with organics, they don't really mean smack. I generally tag two plants, when I try any type of new fertilizer. I feed most starting at half the recommended mixing strength, and only those two at the recommended mixing strength.
.
If the ones being fed per the label look better, then up I go with the mixing strength for all of them.
.
However, if the recommended mixing strength ends up being too hot, I've only effected two plants. I'll just skip feeding them next go round, and drop down to the lower mixing strength for them also.
.
The best way to judge your plants, is by their growth, leaf color and growth. Feeding schedules are just general guidelines. Some strains will eat light, others are nute hogs. Read the leaves to get the real story....
.
Hope this helps.....
Keep it Real....Organic.....
.
P.S. - Genetics are what it's all really about. Average, or middle of the road stuff, cannot be fertilized to Dank status. It's much better, to underfeed than overfeed. One is easy to correct, the other is not.
.
I'd much rather smoke a couple ounces of clean, smooth smoking weed, over an quarter pound of harsh, lung busting weed any day.

Thanks You! Sir... I really appriciate your reply. To go into detail I have three girls in supper soil and I think that they ran out of food, but I didn't know whether or not to start off 1/4, 1/2 or full because they are in flowering, plus they need nitrogen. Now after I watered them with a guestmate fert solution I think I might need to flush them. I used 2tbl of FF grow big, 4tbl of FF big bloom, 1tbl of diamond nector and 1tbl of liquid Karma in 2 gallons of water. Should I flush all the way, and what I mean by that is they are all in 5 gallon buckets, and I wonder if I should flush each with 5 gallon of water if they still look like they need food.

Whats weird is some one brought up that it could be pH problems and that I should be using pH 6.5 water or something, but during veg I just used plain tap water with a pH of 7.8. Had no problems then.

Thanks again Ohsogreen.
