This is orginally Blazeoneup's soil mix, which is supposed to take you all the way to harvest with just water, below is the link:

Keico has altered it to fit a 3 gallon pot, which is exactly what I need:

Blazeoneups soil recipe for a 3 gallon pot
24 cups soil foxfarm Ocean forest potting soil
48 cups Premier peat moss
2 tablespoon MG bone meal
2 tablespoon MG Blood Meal
14 cups perlite
2 tablespoon dolomite lime or 1 tablespoon if you are using promix/sunshine mix #4

My question is I'm thinking about adding Worm Castings to the mix.
How much do you think I'll need?

1/3 of mix is generally considered maximum with worm castings. Anything less like 15 or 20 percent is fine.

Wasn't his original mix Premier soil and not peat moss? Anyway have you tried this mix yet? What was the final yield of the soil?

If you're already going to buy a ready-mixed soil like "ocean forest", which already contains more than enough nutes for veg, why not just add 20% pealite to it and be done with it, until you need flowering nutes? I don't know of anyone who recommends the same nutrition from start to finish, and as nutrients are lost, they should be replaced - as necessary - during the grow. I could see using one mix in veg, but not through flower as well.

and if you're going to go through all the trouble of creating a mix, why waste your money on ocean forests pretty packaging?

Worm Castings are not needed.

I personally spoke with him (Blazeoneup) and he says it is not needed.

You can see the proof from his post in ICMAG that his mix works from start to finish, without the need to add anything extra.

I made the mistake on my 1st grow of adding to many nutrients and burned my plants.

Although the smoke was ok, if I had not added to much fertilizer they would have come out better.

I am presently using his mix now and the plants are loving it.

Resist the urge to over do or add something else to a proven soil recipe

There are many growers that mix there soil so that there is enough nutrients from start to finished.

They are called Super Soil Mixes, and they are a few listed here at RIU

As far as why buy a pretty bag with premixed soil, its for newbies that don't have it down pact on how to mix there own soil

Everybody was a newbie at one time
