Default Whats a good organic pesticide?
My babies are outdoors and are starting to flower. Last year i ran into worms or catapillars i think thats what they are and had to pick them out by hand. So this year i want to be ahead of the game by using pesticde. Is there any good brand that i can get at home depot or wal mart?

Get neem oil from lowes or home depot and if you have caterpillars pick up some thuricide, they dont stand a chance against it.

  1. step 1
Keep everything clean and sealed. One of the best ways to control bugs is to prevent them. Practice IPM (integrated pest management). Through IPM, you manage pests by stopping problems before they start. Keep areas clean and free of debris, garbage and especially food particles that attract pests. Seal cracks, add screens to windows and doors, and caulk around all openings to your home. Stop the bugs before they start and don't give them anything they want.
  2. Step 2
Use essential oils. Many bugs hate strong odors and will stay away from natural essential oils. Citrus oils like lemon and orange can be used by soaking cotton balls in the oil and placing around your home, in cupboards, and in any cracks and crevices that may attract bugs. Mint, peppermint, clove, pennyroyal, citronella, eucalyptus and tea tree oils are also very effective for keeping bugs at bay.
  3. Step 3
Sprinkle garlic and pepper powders around your home. Bugs avoid garlic and hate pepper. You can sprinkle garlic and pepper powders along the edge of your home, in doorways, around window sills, around plants, and outdoors around your garden and patio to keep the bugs away. Ants especially will not cross the powder lines. You can also sprinkle the powder mixes in cracks and crevices where bugs might hide. Hot pepper sauces are also effective in repelling many pests.
  4. Step 4
Soap up your garden. Good old-fashioned soap is a natural way to keep bugs off your plants. Dr. Bronners all-natural soaps are an excellent choice for the garden. Mix 3 tbsp. per gallon of water and spray directly on your plants. This will get rid of most all bugs. Be careful not to over-spray your plants though and do not use on cabbage, lettuce, cucumbers or melons.
  5. Step 5
Consider traps. If you have a stubborn pest problem, consider traps before resorting to chemicals. There are glue boards and pheromone traps for everything from fleas, to ants, to larger critters like mice and rats. Many traps can be purchased at hardware stores or at do-it-yourself pest control stores. Some can be purchased from your local pest control technician.
  6. Step 6
Get beneficial bugs, animals and plants. Lady bugs are good to have in your garden because they get rid of the bad bugs. Birds, bats, frogs and toads eat many insects and are really good for keeping mosquitoes at bay. A cat or dog will keep mice and other rodents away (though they may attract fleas and ticks). Plant flowers like chrysanthemums and calendula to deter bug infestations. Chives and catnip can keep Japanese beetles from feasting on your plants.

Garlic... Get some garlic and mix it in with a feeding. Also you can cut up some garlic and spread it around your ladies. I had a very bad bug problem growing outdoors a few years back and that got rid of it almost immediatly. Also if you get any spiders on them leave them there. They are there to help.
