Talking DSG's: Overview Of The Basic Guano Tea
Okay here is a basic overview of The Bat Guano Tea. I have used these teas for two and half years now and always had good results. My Tea consists of Bat Guano, Worm Castings, and Unsulfured Molasses. Keep in mind you can add anything else in teas such as manures, kelp, compost, etc. but I find Bat Guano to be sufficient. Just keep track of your N-P-K and stage of growth. This concept of using water to draw beneficial extracts from solid materials for the purpose of making a liquid solution has applications beyond making us feel better, however. Our plants and even our soils can benefit greatly from a nice cup of tea when that tea is derived from a plant nutrition source like guano and worm castings. I will first cover what each ingredient is and does. Then I will I cover making the tea hope y’all enjoy.

Default Bat Guano
There is a lot to Guano also like it depends on the bats diet, environment. The Mexican Bat tends to have higher Nitrogen and the Jamaican Bat tend to have higher Phosphorus. It depends on how the bat lives. It’s basically a cycle.

The cycle of bat guano is:
1. Bat eats insects/fruits.
2. Bats deposit guano on cave floor.
3. Ate again by beetles and microbes.
4. Results are a natural fertilizer.

Different ways guano can be used are:
1. Improves the richness and texture of soil
2. The bioremediation microbes clean up toxic spills on the soil
3. Foliar feeding kills fungus
4. Controls harmful nematodes in the soil.
5. Excellent compost pile activator.

Default Worm Castings And Molasses
Worm Castings add active microbial life to your soil while slowly releasing valuable trace minerals and important plant growth enhancers. Being high in available nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, and many other minerals are known to have an extraordinary effect on plant life. Castings improve the soil structure and increase fertility making them the most enriching soil conditioner available.

Molasses is a fairly versatile product, it can serve as a plant food as well as an additive to improve a fertilizer mix or feed microbes in tea. Most bat guanos are fairly close to being complete fertilizers, with the main exception being that they are usually short in Potassium. Molasses turns out is a great source of that necessary Potassium.
Molasses turns out is a great source of that necessary Potassium. Molasses also acts as a chelating agent and will help to make micronutrients in the Guano more easily available for our favorite herbs. It is basically food for the microbes in the Guano and castings.

Default What You Need and Making The Tea
Any type of bucket will work just fine

An air pump, many may says use an air stone. I don’t disagree with using one; I just prefer big bubbles to give the microbes a good amount of oxygen and get a nice top layer of foam.

Bat Guano either High in N for Veg and High P for Bloom

Worm Casting

Unsulfured Molasses

Measuring Cups

Once you got everything you need for your tea, we can now get to brewing. One real important thing to consider is the type of water. I use RO Water, Most tap contains chlorine and that kills microbes in your tea, but you can just let sit for 24 hours with some bubbles so chlorine evaporates. It is a good idea to keep your tea oxygenated its whole life- span to better support microbes in the water. I find it best the first few days but you can keep tea’s well for weeks. I like to get a nice top layer of foam this lets me know it’s full of life. Again You can add anything you like just keep track of you N-P-K. Higher N for Veg And Higher P for Bloom. So here is my BASIC GUANO TEA per gallon of water.

Mix

1 tbsp of Guano

¼ cup of Worm Casting

1 tbsp of Molasses

Thanks For Reading Hope It Helped Y'all Get A Better Understanding Of the Basic Guano Tea,

DSG

Default Organic Tea
I want to first off thank you for your thread. I love growing organically and prefer not to use chemical fertilizers. Is the tea the only fertalizer you use or do u add other supplemental food? Do you use a ppm meter when using the tea to measure the concentration level? Is the tea u shared on the earlier stages of feeding. How high of a dose to u go up to? Thanks man i want to thank you again for all your help

Your welcome and yes i do add other supplement food i just recently tried Bmo's SPT its wonderful to add trace minerals. I also use earth Juice meta k it contains nice amount of potash not found in guano. I have used a ppm meter before but find it not necessary what is important is your N-P-K value. For early stages of growth i either use low doses of guano high n or rabit poo tea. For example my Guano has a ratio of 8-4-1 a tbsp to gallon of water. Too high for seedings or early veg so i cut it dwn to 1 tsp which gives me around 2.5- 1.25 -.3 nice numbers to work with, but rabbit poo has almost the same value and is cheaper than guano ( I like to save my guano). I have used values up to 10-4-7 for veg and 2-10-5 for flowering becareful with guano tho because it cotain extra values that are slowly released over time. All Lables should say what is avaiable to plants right away and overtime.

It is not that easy to burn your plants with organics but you can. With guano it has more nutes like double what it says on the lable that are released overtime, so don't over do it or feed every watering. Give your lady's some time to absorb all the nutes needed. I like to feed every two and half weeks and One quart each plant.
