Default Bottom Feeding in Coco. Possible?
Hey guys, hows it going?

I'm contemplating bottom feeding with organic in an Autopot system (gravity fed, not recirculating) and I got a couple of questions about it.

Intend to use 30 perlite/ 70 coco peat as my medium.

1. If I make tea, how much should I make to put in the reservoir? Is it going to be terribly smelly?

2. If I can't stick tea into the reservoir, I was considering using just tap water in the reservoir and every couple of days shutting off the valve and top feeding it with tea. Is this possible?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Coco bottom feeds well, so does perlite. You should have no problems in that respect.

The tea might smell, but your pot should only have a small amount of space between it's edges and the start of the resevoir container. This should limit smell output.

Remember to stick an air bubbler in the water and have it running constantly. Otherwise you'll get some bad bacteria fast.

I think I'm leaning towards just filling the res with plain water and top feeding every other day with tea bubbling in a seperate container outside.
