Default What soil to use?

I'm planning a soil grow, but I'm stuck at the first hurdle - what soil to use. In our back garden, we have westalnd multipurpose compost and we have some homemade stuff in the bottom of the compost bin. Which should I use? Or do I need to go out an buy some better soil? Pics attached.

im usin multi purpose compost at the moment as well and was told by some people its okay to use and other people say it isn't im not sure but im usin multi purpose.

Hmm, I see. I've heard that basic compost mixes usually arent good enough, and that you need to use the best of the best, otherwise you'll get a crap harvest
