hey all, i was checking out bone meals today. I realised that a lot of the bone meals out there are not even steamed and just plain bone meal in a box.
Well for the same price you can get steamed bone meal with extra microbes added in. This has that fox farms kick and it is steamed. Bone meal should be steamed if you want it to work faster. It breaks down faster. I made that mistake, am not paying for it, but I still got time. I did however give my mix another month to cook. Fox farms peace of mind bone meal. Also for a super soil adding some peace of mind bulb food would be another good kick. It has a 3-8-8 to go along with the 2-15-0 of steamed bone and the 13-0-0 of blood meal and the 1-1-3 of my kelp meal. All this together with some azomite and some perlite and some compost and a base of plain premier peat moss are going to be my power house for my next grow. Oh yeah, some worm casts I love super soil. Water only. Once cooked, this shit is good to go from what I see.

Tea Tree.... Yes steamed is better for two reasons. One, it does breakdown faster. & Two, the steaming process kills pathogens.
. Super Soil is cool, provided you let it cook for at least a month & you don't transplant directly into it. You must have a buffer zone of soil, to avoid root damage / nute burn. It also helps to reduce the mixing strength (amount) of amendments if you are growing a light feeding strain...... One size (or mixing strength) does not fit all...... . . Keep it Real....Organic..... . . |

I have actually taken the super soil a little further with my grow. I had some of the rapid rooters with seedlings in 16 ounce cups with lightwarrior. They already needed a feed as lightwaririor is just pure peat moss almost. So i took some lightwarrior I had on hand and amended it to half str with blood, bone, and kelp. A little azomite and myco. I then filled one gallon gallon containers with this and my 16 ounce seedlings. They are loving it! In one half week they have caught up to a plant a week older than them. Granted they are all going a little slower as the heat got to them for a few days before I replaced an air conditioner. But they are totally healthy and in basically this is just a preamended soil. Very nice. It is not that it is easier it is that they can feed whenever they want. That feed once a week thing is for hydro. lol. In soil one can build a good system.
