well if you are using chem nutes then you wont see any difference. The chlorine kills the microbes. You might have a prob with some water and the ph. Who knows in the la basin tho, it is supposed to be the worst the us.

on my first grow, i was watering straight from the tap, no waiting, or ph'ing. the ph of my water here is 7.0, and with all the mistakes i made, i still saw satisfactory results.

Plant count doesn't mean more yield though. Backwards thinking, but a lot of us have had those same misconceptions.

Here are 6 plants crammed in a bathroom and it wouldn't be possible to yield more using more plants:

Just soil then no, organic soil then i would let it sit. But you can water soil or hydro with tap and get the same great results, just depends on your tap and combo of nutes, plants actually require a small amount of chlorine.

RO is still a great way to go(the best if you are prepared for it) Your goin to have a problem mainly with calcium and magnisium in RO. This is solved by buying a nutrient that contains the proper amount or buy an additive of CAL/MAG. RO is a little more work but you know exactly what in your water(pppm around 0 instaed of around 300ppm with tap)

My tap is 100 and if you want to know what is in your water counties and cities will test your water for free and send you a detailed molecular break down of its contents. For me though tap water has always been just fine. Bottled water no so much. RO well not for me
