ive recently started a compost area for my outdoor veggie garden. ive been throwing in all my non-meat food waste and some of my paper products and my yard waste. my question is can i throw too much coffee grounds in and make my compost too hot. i throw about 2 full filters in a day(we drink some coffee!).

The only thing you really want to do is try and have a balance between green product (fresh grass clippings, fruits, veggies,) and brown product (brown leaves, shredded paper, coffee filter etc)

Nature will do the rest. don't get too caught up on composting. It will happen no matter what and nature will balance the equation.

I can say this. Do not throw any fruit in there. That can be bad. I got them bad, Finally found BTI and msoquito dunks. One step cheaper than predator nematodes. That and Pyrethrins work, act fast. I say this as I began to compost and instantly and for four months fought gnats.
