when i transplant i use 3.5 gallon buckets with Ocean Forest and add a 1/2 cup of dolomite lime in it.. and yes it helps keep PH stable.. and a great source of calcium and magnesium...

OP, what this guy said.

Dolomite lime has good amounts of other minerals + good stuff, and it helps keep the pH stable in most mediums (especially peat based) in conjunction with humates.

I can't get dolomite lime to dissolve in water so I only use it when making grow dirt. If anyone has a trick to getting it to dissolve in water let me know because I wouldn't mind using it my hydro tank.

If you are in need of a quick fix or long term sollution, Try a few tablespoons of woodash, needs to be hardwood, sprinkled around the drip line of the plants, does about the same thing as dolemite, its cheaper and has lots of goodies in it also the plants love.
