Talking what I am doing these day, some questions.
These days I have my perpetual four in flower and four in veg medical garden getting setup. I have a 600 for flower and a 400 for veg. Lumatek digitals in air cooled hoods. Ozone and charcoal, the only way to fly.

Currently I am growing in seven gallon bags in a medium mix of fox farms ocean forest and worm casts. I am using all BMO nutes as well as castings and compost teas. The results are great. I just added an UV bulb for more fun.

I make the teas once a week. I feed them fine. It is a problem though every week to get the water ready and then the 24 hours of brewing. I forget. lol. I am getting better at it and it is getting easier.

My next grow, the up and coming veggers I am going to be trying a super soil mix I have put together. I figured in an apt it would be smarter and the plants would love being able to eat whenever they want.

The mix is cooking. I am doing more reading about organics. I have books on the soil food web coming. I am reading about the bacteria and so on to a greater level. It is HARD not to just buy the hydro store goods already made. But something tells me I can get the same results with what I have on hand organically DIY, like the castings I make and compost and blackstrap molasses. So I resisted that and did so with some more reading. The bacteria levels and fungi levels in some of these products sound exactly the same as worm castings, lol. What a hydro says in bold the organic garden literature says in in fine as if it is NOT good enough, lol. Who knows, time will tell. The longer I work at it the smoother I get.

Anyway with a super soil grow coming I no realize I will have to be making the teas anyways to replenish the soils bacteria and fungi and food. Also it is true that the annual that mj is loves the bacteria more than the fungi but the two so go hand in hand. It is perennials that are fungi starved but the two are interrelated so I am eager to read more.

I guess the draw of super soil is that the plants can feed all the time. Any experiences there? Super soil grows?

Also I have an 8 in fan coming and man am I going to have to scramble to keep that quiet. I might just toss my 6 in fan and duct the 8 in to handle the 600 and 400 lights.

What also do you guys think of those bacteria products at the hydro shop and more importantly all those additives like gravity and purple max that are their. I am itching to buy those. I have a purple strain as one of my two. What do you think they have in them and with the ewc and the compost and the super plant tonic do you think I have covered all grounds? I also have kelp in my super soil. Kelp, Blood, Bone, Greensand, azomite, ocean forest, organicare aeration mix, worm casts and coir.

I figure out to get a good bacteria tea to froth the secret is a lot of organic dry material like compost. Also manure but I tried everything ands unless I added lots of compost it seems to not bubble on its frothy own with all that bacterial goodness. So throw in a lot of that. Also about 2 hours. Actuall I could hit myself. The secret isnt all the dry material as I have so many bacteria sources like BMO but it is AIR! The more the better. Large buubles too. I Now have two pumps with three tubes bubbling away, this is 2-3X what I have before. THis is what I have done on other ocasions and this is the key. They need that much air or nothing. I have seen set-ups with massive air engines and just figured one little pump would work too. NO!.

It has been fun. Also I notice with humor all those super soil recipes are just the recipes on the box with a P kick. Organic growing is getting easier. I can’t wait to take weights. I am going to have to buy a separate drying tent to hang all this as my 1 ounce 18 gallon bud dryer is way too small.

Also I have found that only mass quantities of sand will eradicate the fungus gnats. The strips sure catch a lot.

Lol, yeah I have not been keeping the grow updated very well. Lots of updates. But then again maybe only a few pages worth, hehe. Anyway here are some pics of my girls a few days ago. Well, maybe a week. I am in too much pain to go snap some new ones right not. Maybe tomorow. These are right after I gave them a nice upskirt trim. Get rid of some of the crappy energy wasters and put on some more weight on the colas and so on.

Dirt Clean... Gravity & Purple Max can be replaced by using a good quality seaweed extract, every 10 days, until the 4th week of flowering. Save your dough..... those two products sound nice and look nice and do provide some benefits - but seaweed extract will do the same...Much Cheaper.......
.
I also like using a super blue bulb 6500 K, in my MH setup to keep um short, & wide.....
.
Hope this helps.....

Thanks ohsogreen. I would rep yu if I could.

The sea weed is good. I have loaded my soil with kelp and everything I uses has some in it. I wanted a look at their ingreds.

I am now reading about the soil food web. If you google the "soil food web" you will be pleasantly surprised with the finds. Lots of good tea sites up there.

I am now battling one hell of what I hope is a ph prob with my 4 veggers. The only good peice of news is that one pheno of wws is ph tolerant to incredible levels. Last cycle things hit HIGH! so hi I am embarrassed but I swear like over 8 and this girl did not care. So while every other plant is suffering she is fine.

I clone only here from now on. Howver the other girls big sisters grew out better. The bad thing is I just figured out I gotta mix a foliar spray for the ph as I cant water any more for a week at least. For all I know that is the prob.

That is my question. Can I foliar feed if I need to fix my girls and the soil is still wet? I am hoping. In case it fails I have started germing more fems from my precious ten pack. Nice plant. My picassa is screwed but the colas are nice. My LST to a 90 degree angle and top at the 8th node worked awesomely. I have also tried the uncle ben topped at the 2nd node for 4 colas. I have found I have to further lst a little to make sure they catch up right. I think I am partial to the less stress option.

Also I got my 8 in fan on my 600 and my 400 on a cooltube which is a nice hood. I think performs as good as my 180 dollar airlfow hood. Nice it is wired for lumatek.

So to foliar a low ph ro water for a girl now. I will put her outside for a few hours. I veg on an 24/0 clock for a lot of reasons. This is one of them.

Do you happen to know if river moss has any value? I live along ways from a sea...I can catch a river moss....but kelp or sea weed would need to be ordered in.

I like the thread DC.....I was planning on going to a super soil soon...I will be subscribed...good luck

Also just got this off the net. Hope it helps.

In addition to promoting maximum nutrient uptake, foliar fertilizers may have other benefits, including prevention of plant diseases and fungal attack. Foliar fertilizers cover the leaves and stems, the plant parts most susceptible to pests and parasites.
Perhaps the biggest side benefit of foliar feeding is that it can increase the plant's uptake of nutrients from the hydroponics nutrient solution or the soil in gardens using soil-based growing media.
Feeding through the leaves works more quickly than adding fertilizer to nutrient solution or soil, which then has to be taken up through a plant's root system. Foliar feeding is not a substitute for root feeding, but used in conjunction with root feeding, foliar feeding can increase its effectiveness. Applying a foliar fertilizer directly to the leaf increases the activity in the leaf, at the same time increasing chlorophyll and thus photosynthesis.
Because of this increased activity, the leaf's need for water is also increased, which in turnincreases water uptake by the plants
vascular system. This increases the uptake of nutrients from the hydroponics nutrient solution or soil.
This is great news for hydroponics gardening because plants can actually be stimulated through foliar feeding to "suck up" more nutrient solution resulting in explosive growth and fruit production.

Also Any one have any expereince with coco and organics? Is it still sorta the same as soil when it comes to taste. I have switched to organic soil for the quality and have been reading coco and wonder how they compare.

Also what the hell soil exactly? rofl, i know this is retarded but I am dying to know what yu guys come up with when you thnk about it. Soil is just about anything these days, even in scicnec text and where si the cutoff and maybe I am just high! Lol, morphine and insomnia got me a little whacky, I have smoked my first crop long ago. lol.

I made a quick lower ph water with spt and liquid karma. Sprayed it over and under the leaves. I also added some to the soil, screw it I will risk the root damage due to wetness if I can get the ph lowered and get some N in their. If it is ph, lol. It looks like it did last time.\

Last time I added dolomite and am sure that is why. This time I did not. It is fox farm ocean forest and organicare aeration mix. Their is d lime in both and I wonder if that is why the ph is up over 7 I am sure. I am usign strips and cannot check the run off and both 10 follar meters say 7 something.

Any body on ph in these soils? I am a little pissed.

ther again perhaps my ro water and feed is doing it and the dolomite is not doing it for me.
