Default Need Help/ Inspiration!
okay, so i'm on my second go round indoors under 2, 150 wt h.p.s. I just ordered trainwreck, cheese, white rhino, lemon skunk, and big bang. i want to use an all organic setup, but i'm also wanting to do a s.o.g setup. Now, what i need is soil mixes/nutrient regiments, how to cut the nutrients when introducing them, and any feedback about the sea of green how to and whatnot. I'm working with a smaller space about 4x 4x 3.5. I'm trying to maxamize my yield for my space this time, because i messed up by using 1 gallon pots last time. I'm looking to start these babies in about 2 weeks and i'm pretty much open to and advice, so any help would be very much appreciated!!

Well for starters get yourself a good high quality organic soil mix. Roots and Fox Farm are good places to start on that search. Then you'll want to add some ammendments to your soil. This is where it gets interesting. You could use a super soil mix and would not need to fertilize your plants, just a simple top dressing of the super soil later in their life cycle from time to time to keep the nutrient levels up. Or you can just ammend with a few simple things and fertilize as you go. Given that you're new to all of this I'd suggest a simple soil mix and watering nutes into the soil as you go.

If you're interested in the super soil you can find all you need to know online in various places or here on rollitup in Subcools Organics subforum.

For a simple soil mix, if you buy a high quality soil you really wouldn't have to add anything though if done right it can't hurt. Some worm castings and perlite should do, maybe some high nitrogen bat guano or bone meal as well though all of those thigns are likely to already be in a good premixed soil. For nutrients later in the cycle, Blue Mountain Organics{You can find them on ebay, theres actually a link to there store in another thread under organics inquiring about them} isn't a bad choice. Cost aren't too bad, though shipping on first item is a little high. But if you buy atleast four eligible items the shipping will be capped at 11.50. Otherwise its 6.50 to start and 2.50 for each additional item. There are plenty of other organic nutrients out there, the Roots company makes some as well as Botanicare. You could always use the varioius guano's as well, top dressing or making teas out of them.

As far as regimens go, follow the schedule provided with the nutrients. As far as when to begin introducing your own nutrients, that will really depend on your final soil concoction. But anywhere from 2-4 weeks would be about standard. On my most recent grow, some autoflowers which I should say have disappointed me so far, not quite done...I mixed my own soil just to test the waters with them. Just some organic potting soil, cow manure compost and mushroom compost along with some vermiculite. Began adding nutes after 2-3 weeks. Nothing strong as they were still so young but I think you get the picture, in the end you get what you pay for.

Pick up some Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil and cut it with about 20% perlite. Grow them in 3 gallon containers or larger (I prefer to use grow bags because they are deeper than most containers). Next pick up the BMO line; Grow, Flower, & Super Plant Tonic. Make a tea out of them as per directions. Water with the tea once a week and the rest of the time water with just straight unchlorinated water. You will have potent, tasty organic cannabis in no time.

Also, to utilize your space for bigger yeild, I recommend topping, bending, pruning, and supercropping. These may be considered "advanced" for a second grow, but just try one of the methods out and you will surely be rewarded with larger yeilds in smaller spaces. I only work with 2.8x2.8x5.3 specs and I get about 12 ounces per 4 plants.
