Default Subcool's Super Organic Soil Mix!!!???
First Time Outdoor

I was wondering if the new organic miracle grow bone and blood meal would be sufficient enough instead of fox farms peace of mind? I'm also wondering if the Jungle Organic potting soil at lowe's would be good enough for my base soil too instead of roots organic??? Will I get the pretty close similar results???

In other words ...

what kind
Should I Get!!!???...

Steamed Bone Meal
Bloom Bat Guano
Blood Meal
Rock Phosphate
Epson Salts
Sweet Lime (Dolomite)
Azomite (Trace Elements)
Powdered Humic Acid

I just want to get all the elements right so I get the same mixture you use in your article you did this year in HT. What can I save money on by getting it from lowes or ace hardware and what do I need to get at the hydro store???

Thanks for your time if anybody can help=)

That'll get you help...

You posted late last night on a forum that usually only has a handful of people viewing. Be patient, people have been very helpful.

BTW, I use a mix based on FoxFarms, so I can't offer any help on that.

2 parts Ocean
1 part Light Warrior
1 part MG Organic
1 part Perlite
4 cups Alfalfa
4 cups Espoma Lime

Sorry if I sounded hostile but there was like 30 views and nobody said anything. This is Subcool's very own mixture that he uses and I just want to get it right because he never said what kind of products to use accept for the potting soil.

I'M BUYING THE STUFF THIS WEEK SO I CAN TRANSPLANT INTO THE 7 GALLON POTS. I DON'T WANT TO BUY THE WRONG STUFF. IF I COULD SAVE A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS TOO THAT WOULD BE REEEALY SUBCOOL His "SUPERMIX" is out of high times and thats why I'm starting not to like high times because they are never specific enough. They leave a bunch of information out and act like they are really teaching you something start to finish. Skunk is where it's at for me personally when it comes to growing tips.

that is not the recipe that subcool uses on this site. Lol, what is the recipe you got. If you want subcools help go to his side, his subforum and check it out. Wait that is the recipe. I read humic as kelp, I am tired.

High times is f*ckin great dude. That said, "organic" products do not really share that many troublesome differences when it comes to brand name. To be organic is to be the "natural" without any chems, or preservatives added. Brand names can only mess with the concentration, amount, and perhaps other "organic" additives added within whatever product you are considering. As long as you have your NPK covered thruout flower you should be good. You can get most of the stuff at any grocery or garden center for cheaper than a hydro store (could never find the azomite though.) Dont forget that if you plan on making a replica of Subcool's mix that you have to let it decompose - let the mix sit for about a month.

Just be careful as to your super soil/base soil mixture. It is a fairly hot mix.

Haven't used it all the way through yet, but transplanted into it recently and plants burned a little. I put the super soil in the bottom 2/3 of a 5-gallon bucket and I put about an inch of base soil over the super soil before transplanting. I think I could have avoided the burn if I had put a little thicker layer of base soil over the super soil.

The clones fought through the burn for a few days and are now exploding. Haven't seen growth like this since growing in DWC. I'm still seeing a little twisting and curling of leaves as they come out, but they're unfolding into nice healthy leaves and the plants are bushing out like crazy.
