Default Organic Soil Mix, what do you think?
Here it goes....
Im preparing for a greenhouse grow for the summer and for a change i would rather make one monster plant rather than many smaller ones...... on the other hand i may not be here all summer so i have to make a soil mix that will require very little feeding... atleast until flowering begins......
after reading up about many different types of soil mixes, i came up with a blend that i think might do the job... my only problem is i havent figured out the dosage of each element......
Can someone maybe help me out on how much of what to use....and give me your opinion on the mix itself....
here is what ive got :

50 Litres of Worm castings
2 kilos of guano
2 kilos of bone meal
2 kilos of mearl
150 Liters of black peat
50 liters of Potting soil
150 liters of Light Mix
Perlite
hydro corals.....

Could anyone help me out on dosage for a 50 Liter Pot?....
and do you think this might be too rich of a mix?? or am i missing something...
the only thing I was skeptical about adding is blood meal for the N ..... but i dont wanna over do it either.....

Thanx for the Help
Peace out!

are u sayiin your goin to mix this together then leave for awhile?? Are you using a drip setup? What strain are u using and whats the length of vegging time for that strain. I would consider getting most of my nitro from the blood meal. It slow releases and usually never exceeds 7 PH. Use a low nitro bat guano, 1/3 of bat guano.( i've done an entire plant just of bat guano) worked but not reccomended...I go with 20% perlite, 1/4 to 1/2 cup of dolomite lime, and I would go with 1/3 potting soil (nuetral to low nitro) The trick will be to get a good ph right at the beginning. I think if u use the blood and bone meal for the first couple of days to balance ur PH, your potting soil will act as a buffer from there, and as long as you have good water goin to it and u are back by flowering u may pull some kind of yield.. The problem is your starting great but a good plant usually has to start a good nute program at week 3-4. best of luck

Sweet! thanx alot armlength.....
I will be here for most of the plants life cycle, but may have to leave for a couple of days here and there... and i wanna make it easy for my wife to water.... I could give her a list of ferts she has to use, like i would indoors but i figured id try and make it easier for her... and that way she just has to water them with clean water...... The maerl will be keeping my soil mix at the right PH so im not worried about that too much....
What i really want is to not have to fertilize too often.....
i thought the worm castings bone meal and guano would do the job....
I get absolutely fantastic results in the greenhouse useing biobizz soil but i tend to fertilize the entire plants life...
I want to try and get the same result without having to use ferts... Do you think it is doable..?.

the variety ill be growing this summer is Laughing buddha.... Its got a long flowering period indoor but finishes earlier than any of my other varieties outdoor.... and dont worry, when i say ill be leaving... it really is just for about 2 weeks in july.... and the plant is gonna go from may to mid october......
peace and + rep for the answer!!!

thanks man!!! If it were me i would get the soil straight and if you leave for a couple and know that your going to have to nute, mix up or get a lil acquarium bubbler and keep a BMO tea going constantly. Have a properly measured pitcher handy and show wifey on what days to pour X amount of tea mix in plants. Thats the grat thing about BMO.. THey superconcentrate, so all you have to do is add water and either keep it on bubble or shake the piss out of watery mix and your good. Bubbleing is by far the best though ( good for lil microorganisms).. It really is simple, just dont get caught up in the this way, that way scenario. PH, water nute, lights, and smoke!!!! thanks man

Ah, i forgot to mention that ill be using light mix at the top layer of my pot so that the little plants wont suffer till they get bigger and reach the richer soil further down....

this is what I will be trying. It was originally for soiless. I am going to try it on soil. I think it looks right. I love the guano, but I have not used bloodmeal. The reading is awesome.

If you want to use guano in your soil mix...
Bongaloid's Guano Mix.
Use all these items combined with one gallon of soil mix.
1/3C hi N Guano (Mexican Bat Guano)
1/2C hi P Guano (Jamaican or Indonesian Bat Guano)
1TBS Jersey Greensand
1TBS Kelp Meal

this assumes that the soil mix already has about 1 tbsp of dolomite per gallon and is perlite heavy. This would be a water only grow. Originally it was for sunshine mix 1 or 2.
