hello
I am just wondering about a few things and im hoping you could answer them for me. i would like to keep a mother plant but am unsure about the soil part of it. when i go to the local garden store they have alot of soil but a lot of it contains nutes that feeds the plant for "up to 6 months"..i though i wanted to stay away from that kind of soil, right?..i am not near any place that sells foxfarms or any other high quality soils.. so i figured i would just get a bag of scotts top soil and mix it with perlite until it was light..the part im confused on is, if i had good foxfarm soil i wouldnt have to add nutes for a long time, right?..so if i get top soil and perlite would i have to buy some kind of organic ferts?..or could i feed her plain water for many months first? i am open to any advise on mixing a good soil mix that i can find at a local store...i also need to know a good feeding scedule to use in that soil"for the mother plant"..i would hate to burn her right at the start. the clones i would be taking would not be growing organic if that helps any |

just grab some good soil, and some good compost. Mix that with some perlite until light. Get organic soil for like 5-7 dollars in the back of home depot. Grab some of their alaska fish emulsion 5-1-1 OMRI from their fertliser section. They are famous for having it. You will be able to find variation of this all over. The dirt is in the back of hd, gotta look. Feed this to your mother plant once a week to keep her in veg.
Forget all that other soil, what a load. |

if you want to get facny get worm castings and coir and molasses. mix the worm castings into the soil along with some coir. To feed make teas. Add a tbsp I think a gallon of RO water only. Then add a tbsp of molasees a gallon. Then add 1-2 tbsp of worm castigns a gallon. THen add a cup of compost a gallon. Set this up with an airstone and bubbel ir for at least 24 hours. THis will keep yer girl happy/

will the plant be ok if i just feed water for awhile with my scotts top soil with peat moss in it, and perlite mix? do you think this soil will have enough nutes in it?..or can i use this fish emulsion with this soil..should i wait to put nutes in the soil on a 1 week old plant?..i hear some people say they dont give anything but water for like 45 days or some thing..im sure its simple. if some one has a mother plant just tell me your nute feeding scedule, like nutes with every feed or once a week or month ect....i just dont want to over do it..im not looking for exact ml just when your feeding nutes..this question is open to all

YES.
I am glad your scott is organic. I hope that your perlite does not have nutes on it. I cant tell. That is good. What would be good to get is also at home depot. Right next to the kiracle grow perlite usually. It is EPsoma garden Lime. OR Epsoma dolomite Lime. You want to add about 1 tbsp to a gallon of soil. Dont add more than a cup. It does work. Fish especially will lower the ph. You also want to get a soil ph meter. Also get some ph strips to check runoff. This is more important and more easy than it sounds. A while back my plant looked shitty so I lowerd the ph of some water and wow they bounced right back. That should be fine. I dont know if you are trying to save money or not shop around too much as attention always sucks. I am legal and it sucks. But, if you could get some worm castings, like at Armstrong Nurserys, that would be awesome. If you are there pick up some compost. Adding worm castings and compost to your soil will do lots of good. Good is good you will learn. At 20-30 days you will reach the third node. Then a light feed. Less than a tbsp a gallon of fish emulsion with other amendments like guano and worm castings will be awesome. But dont stress it. Also Blue Mountain Organics on EBAY has killer shit in a bottle. Real good teas already mixed. Read. Only way to learn. Last edited by dirt clean; 04-24-2009 at 02:29 PM.. |
