Default Reuse dirt
I want to reuse my dirt. I am one of those buy throw away guys. Those days are over. These soils are getting fucking ridiculous in price. I am using ff soil with the complete package of Earth Juice products. My question is when the soil is done do I have to replenish it with bone blood and etc. or since I am adding everything to it from ej can I just reuse the?

Reusing soil is doable. Anyone who tries to say its bad is wrong. Reusing soil is as easy as really really flushing well, and then it should be set aside to brew if you will. Add a bunch of worms so they can break down the material. The soil will be very good actually, and its interesting that so many people are against reusing soil.

Anyone who says you should microwave the soil, or sterilize it is wrong. All you want to do is flush out what you've added, and let nature takes its course.

Outside it just needs tilling some perlite..etc.. but I wouldn't reuse inside ..salts, possible larvae ..etc.. yeah.. some do.. you can try and add compost and whatever else.. and end up spending the same $'s and getting 1/2 the yield...
I'd rather spend $50. on good dirt and stay safe... IMO..

yup I'm with twisty on this. I have reused my dirt and it was fine the second time around, but after that I started to have problems, I would flush and it would look better but a week later it was hurting again. This was with NL which I grew out twice, it's not a picky plant it can take a lot of abuse but it couldn't handle the soil. I transplanted to fresh soil and everything was smooth from there.

I had read a thread by the 3lb's and they said they have reused their dirt so many time they lost count. Have heard people doing it. But like wilson said to make the soil work you might just be cheaper buying new and replacing it. I think that I will just fork up the money and buy new soil and save myself the hassel. I was justing looking for a cheap alternative. Boneman I have heard great things about coco but I have a couple of hempy buckets going right now that is what I am going to stick with dirt and hempy. Thanks everyone for the replys.
