sealed grow rooms dont work because there is no change in the actual air. while the plant respires 02 the room will eventually fill up with o2 and stoping photosynthesis because there would be so much pressure from the built up 02 the the c02 wont be delivered. thats why when commerical grows employ proper c02 they vent every 15 then seal it again.

This is absolutly untrue.

O2 is expelled in a completely different manner un related to co2 intake. Further more no matter how well sealed a room is the gasses contained within will still dissipate. Since you are supplementing co2 at a higher rate than the plant expels (respire refers to both intake and output) o2 there is no issue here.

actually I'said i believe ul find its more than just a related process..its part of the same process..photosynthesis. the plant 'breathes' in CO2 and 'breathes' out Oxygen. Kinda like humans but he opposite way aroundi think thats right..im hiigh tho

Ghost420..as far as i understand although the pressure in the room would go up, in theory anyway..if it was actually airtight, until the rooms pressure is higher than the pressure in the CO2 can the CO2 can easily move out into the growroom.

Yes, they are related as in part of the same process. Unlike in the human body, where one central organ is responsible for both actions, a plant uses two very different parts to do this. My reference to respire was to say that plant didn't "breath in and out of the same hole" Thus the build up of O2 is not an issue. The only problem O2 can cause is that it can "collect" on the underside of the leaves covering the stomata. That can block the stomata from taking in CO2. A simple ocilating fan will prevent this.


This theory is flawed IMO. It implies that if a plant was kept in an ideal, 100% sealed and impermeable environment (which is next to impossible in a non scientific realm) where CO2 is injected at the exact same rate as O2 is expelled, that the pressure would build exponentially. The plant is not capable of pressurizing, or compressing, the gases. Therefore there is no pressure difference inside the growing environment. Either way it is next to impossible to seal a grow room to the point at which gasses will not dissipate.
