simple question I hope!
I have tried reading the web, searching and have rodales organic book on the way. I doubt I can find what I am looking for.

I have a simple question I think. When I put together my soil for a water only grow I have all these amendments to add. I have the quantities for seveeral diferent soil mixes. Here is what I am lost on. How can I add them all at once, the NPK for veg and flower, and expect it to work as the plants need it according to the time of growth they are in? I am accustomed to feeding N in veg and P in flower, but according to the water only grow formulas I am supposed to add it all at once. Does the plant just take up the N in veg as dictated by the light and then when in flower it decides to take up the P?


I will beleive this is so if some authority will say so. ty


also if I am planning on not doing a water only grow should I not add any NPK amenments save for worm castings and composts and just rely on the teas to give the plant all that I need?

i think the plant usually just uses what it needs and thats why it would just be a waste to feed it the wrong fertillizers when you are watering them in..

that is what I am thinking too.

that is chooses what to eat according to light cycle or stage of plant life. that is my best theory too.

It depends what you feed the plant. Most nitrogen fertilizers are readily(or very shortly -days) soluble. While most P ferts require a break-down period(weeks, months) before they're soluble.

this is interesting. you mean like mex guanos and shit are fast and bone meal is slow? or n breaks down fst and P does not. cuz oh shit that sucks. shit shit shit. lol.

I was hopin at least to use indonesian bat guanos for flower ferts. In a tea. Is a tea with p like bonemeal and indo bat guano not gonna work. Perhaps then topdressing now is a must. weird I never read this before.

anybody got any good reading on the subject. I do just trust subcool by the way. just want to know more so I feel safe doing it.

I use veg:urine(my own, diluted with 10 parts water) and flower:tomato fertilizer.
