Default mushroom compost
I tried searching the forums for this one but my search always says no matches found.
Anyway Would 1/3 pearlite and 2/3rd mushroom compost be cool?
Anyone with experience with this stuff please post. Im doing lots of soil experiments and I acctually read Jorge cervantes said some of the best plants he's seen have been grown in mushroom compost.

hey dude, 1 bag mushroom compost work great with a1/2bag top soil,1/2bag cow manure and 2 cups of perlite.this mix works good because it dont absorbs that much water. making it a good rooting soil. mix is for six 3gal bags.

Been looking at vegys for minerals, organic type fertz..... MUSHROOM COMPOST seems to best for a high P & K value great for flower. So introduce N in way of manure and you have a complete mineral based soil.......
:This was my idea for a compost TEA.... but as soil would work great just dony over feed the soil will provide alot of what the plant needs:
IDEA!

RAW WHITE MUSHROOM (based on 39grms)

Phosphorus 60.2mg
Potassium 223mg
Calcium 2.1 mg
Iron 0.3 mg
Magnesium 6.3mg
+ 50kg Mushroom compost

I am going to use about 20kg of mushrooms compost and 20kg of seafood (ie:fish, shell fish, etc... have alot of cytokinins!)& 20kg of cow manure - Creating a tea by flushing pile........
Could be a great organic female hormone tea.... for outdoors.....?????

But I think for nxt out door grow I will use mushroom compost mix in soil.....

I've found mushie compost a bit heavy in density to use by itself,I mix it in with MY oganic mix, along with chook n horse poo, worm castings, trace elements, perlite &well rinsed coco fibre, bit of bottled humus doesn't go astray either.

A basic soiless mix is:

5 parts Sphagnum Peat Moss or Coir
3 parts Perlite (Medium Grade probably best)
2 parts Worm Castings (one of the best organic nutrient sources) ... or mushroom compost or home made compost.
2 tablespoons per gallon (3.78L - Round to 4L for ease) Pulverized Dolomite Lime

So for say a 10 Litre (2.6 Gallon) pot, you'd mix up:

5L Sphagnum Peat Moss
3L Perlite
2L Worm Castings or mushroom compost
2.5 Tablespoons of Pulverized Dolomite Lime
Mix it all together thoroughly, and there you go, you have 10L of mix.

The natural organisms in the mix will help to buffer the pH and the Dolomite Lime will take care of the rest.
This mix is best suited for growing with organic nutrients, preferably in liquid form so they can just be watered in.

Cheers!

P.S - Remember to feed regularly with organic fert, because this soiless mixture has no nutrients other than that provided at a slow-ish release rate from the worm castings or mushroom compost, and what little nutrients/minerals provided by the Dolomite Lime
