Yeah, the Indians saved the dumb-ass Pilgrims.... The Pilgrims survived for 1,000's of years, and didn't know how to plant a seed until a Savage taught them. Yea, Right. I'm not buying that Hog with feathers.

![]() maybe your not buying, but the the pilgrims thanked them for saving their asses. It's well documented. The pilgrims DIDN'T know the land (here), the indians did. The pilgrims lived in a larger community, with an infer structure that they knew in Europe. They didn't have that here. I'm not one to think natives were pure and innocent. The pilgrims were VERY lucky with the tribes they met. Either way, dead fish DO make good ferts. whether it is from a corpse or a bottle. Last edited by pinkus; 12-28-2008 at 09:42 AM.. |

As has already been said, just use fish emulsion and bone meal, you will get much better results.
The chances of a whole dead fish causing disease in your soil and mould are very high. All composted things even goldfish need to be broken down first before they are used as a compost

I wouldn't buy them to sacrifice them to your garden gods, no. If you happen to have a goldfish die, put it in your outdoor garden and it will help as long as raccoons, possums, dogs, coyotes or any scavenger with a good nose don't rip out your plants trying to find it.
good luck! keep thinking outside of the box ![]() ![]() |

UHm....while yeah, throwing a fish in the ground worked for the indians, what are you guys, retarded? Anyone who suggests doing that to poor Mary is an idiot. Thats why there are premade fertilizers, as well as endless tea recipes. Throw a fish in your soil, and your more likely to end up with rotting fish smell and loads of maggots and fun diseases then you will fertilizer. Also, you dont know what that fish may have eaten, absorbed, or been exposed to, so you really dont know that your getting just fish. The fish from Pilgrim times were long before the earth got blanketed in a heavy layer of pollution, toxins, and nuclear radiation
Edit: I also know that alot of chemicals used in aquariums are not healthy for Mary or for human consumption, so aquarium fish arent any safer to use

following you own logic leads me to the conclusion that alaska fish ferts is also tainted and off limits, as is almost everything on the planet. Fish ferts is basically fish put in a blender. Last edited by pinkus; 12-28-2008 at 12:00 PM.. |

Only if you have no clue what you're talking about Fish ferts are not "fish in a blender", fertilizers have been composted, which makes them completely different then "fish in a blender" Learn some shit before you go acting like you know what your talking about

Here is another thought. Bacteria in a healthy fish tank, break down the decaying fish waste from ammonia to nitrite and then nitrate. Because this has been bio-converted, would the waste vacuumed from the gravel be too hot for Mary? I used to put it on "reg" house plants and my daughter got a new aquarium...might make me clean it more often if there was something in it for my other girls! The point of burying the fish with the corn was to amend the soil for the future, back when soil was taken care of instead of raped until it is no longer productive. Taking care of the land is a lesson my ancestors did not quiet grasp. They were too busy worried about piety and witchcraft.
