Default Is sand filtering my nutes?????
I have noticed that since i put a thin layer of sand on the soil to kill the gnats, that my plant is showing deficiencies. All was good until I did this, could the sand be filtering out nutes or something. I have modified my tea a bit to compensate, but if this happened to you please give advice. Preciate the posts.

Buffalosoulja... Yes, the sand is trapping nutes. DE (Diatomaceous Earth) will provide a physical barrier to deter and kill gnats - without trapping nutes. Most decent garden centers & hardware stores carrier it. It will kill anything that crawls or flys.
.
I'd spoon off the sand and replace it with DE mixed 1/2 & 1/2 with some new soil or spaghum peat moss.
.
Hope this helps...

It could be the plants are show damage from the knats. They will turn yellow after the bugs have munched on the roots.

No, the gnats weren't around that long maybe two days. I had a feeling it was the sand and ohso confirmed it. But preciate the thoughts.
