Fresh FF OF is pH balanced. Doesn't need lime (perlite, yes)

I mixed one to one ocean forest and light warrior. I added 2 handfuls of dolomite lime pebbles and about 30 percent more perlite.
I feed heavy teas with bio bizz base and mex guano and fish emulsion and seaweed and spt and molasses and cal mag and liquid karma and hydroguard and worm casting and steer manure. I bubble this for at least 24 hours then add one one quart per gallon of soil. I know it sounds like a bit much, I fig the npk is like 13-4-8, with some error and a lot of organic help. Cal mag and liquid karma I have tried with and with out using eggshells instead. So far my plants love it! I have tried some plants with only water and some with just kelp and other :vitamins: but they have all done awesome and more awesome nitciably after the 2nd feed with the tea i make. My ph measures 7 with the stick and between 6-7 with strips measuring the runoff. Fish is acidic and lots of ferts use it. Also some soil additives are also acidic. my dolomite rocks, the little ones, are not as soluble as the flour. this is all to 1.5 cubic foot bags of OF and lw. |

The soil may be balanced but that does not mean it will retain its' balance when other things are added such as ferts. I eyeball about two handfuls of lime myself and then load the soil down with perlite and coco fiber. Not an exact measurement but I would guess I am around 2% lime, 25% Perlite, and 15% Coco Fiber. (Probably use more fiber then perlit except I was low on it last batch. Also it's the smaller perlit form Scotts not the large chunks)
