say I have some potting soil..scotts brand, im broke like no joke ,and i do not have any good fertilizers just some Miracle grow which most people say no to cuzz of the chemical composition,but i do haVe some slow release stuff thats decent and breaks down in 45 days or so,but the main point would be if i dont have any way to get the real good nutes from the store what would make the best substitutes on a no budget basis and with what i have to work with?Any suggestions on household items for the nutrient substitiutes?

sugar in the watering to give some carbs. The time release will work fine it just isn't the best. It will still be the best weed you have smoked on probably.

id say do it, its all a learning processes and if it doesn't work it was worth the try. you wont yield a lot but you will still have something to smoke and it will make u a better grower.

If your growing for your first time, try growing it with just soil and sunlight. Thats what I am planning on doing. Start simple, and when you have built up some experience, go for all the complicated stuff.

if you stick your plant in the window there wont be enough sunlight on your plant for a good veg. you need at least 18hrs of light directly to your plant and in a window or something like that you are only going to get like 4hrs witch will also confuse your plant into flowering right away.

Thats it in a nutshell. It's all about the learning. I used miracle gro my first grow. You CAN use miracle gro, alot of folks do (especially us newbies!!) Most folks here are using chemical nutes. Truly organic growers seem to be the minority. You just have to be REALLY FUCKING CAREFUL and start out like at about 1/4 the recommended strength and work up. I started with 8 beautiful plants, and of course I thought that everyone who told me to use it really sparingly was full of shit and went ahead with the package instructions, and sure as hell, I burnt the shit out of them and killed off all but 1 pathetic survivor (that yielded a QP anyway!!) And motoracer is right, it'll suprise the shit outta you how good it will be. As these plants grow (or not as the case may be) study them. You'll learn alot. If you end up with casualties, use that as a learning experience and figure out what went wrong.
First grows really don't count. You're getting your feet wet. You'll be alot more prepared for the second go round, having seen and experienced first hand what you've only read about before.

Shit, if I can do this, so can anyone. As we gain experience, it can only get better!!!
