I am planning on planting after the cool months come through but i have already been scouting my site and getting my equipment together. I am buying 2 bags of foxfarm original planting mix and for nutrients 1 qaurt foxfarm liquid grow big, and 1 qaurt liquid big bloom. Is there any other amendments like lime or something i should add to the soil? I am only working with 2 GOOD healthy crip seeds so im not going to big. I have a 50/50 chance of getting a female so its worth it. If i get a female I figured i grow her big to take some clones. good plan or bad plan?

No I thought i said that already. I am not planting for another 4 months at least. Winter is about to start in the SE U.S. But when spring comes it will be humid and hot,the best time to start growing here. I just wanted to know if This is Fine for a first time organic outdoor grow.
Soil- Foxfarm original Planting mix Plant Food- Foxfarm liquid grow big (Vegging) - Foxfarm liquid big bloom (Flowering) I acquired 2 healthy seeds from a ounce of good shit i just smoked. so Im saving them til spring. |

Wayne Greenairy..... Just a thought, since you're only holding two seeds, from weed you are fond of - consider the following. . Start them indoors (in a safe, bug / pest free environment). You can put them in a moist paper towel between two plates, on top of the frig (nice stable temp up there). After they sprout, put them into two jiffy peat pots or Rapid Rooters - both provide a very friendly place for your seeds to grow. . Grow them under 18 hours of light from 100 to 150 watts of Compact Floro' Bulbs with a "Daylight" 6500k sprectum to ensure good veg growth. After six weeks of growth, cut four clones from each plant (be sure to seperate & label them). Root them while you continue to allow the mothers or fathers (hope not) to grow under 18 hours of light. . After your clones root, flip the lights (use bulbs under 4000k spectrum now) to a 12 on / 12 off light schedule. This can all be done, during your cold weather season, in preperation for spring. . OK, Spring makes the scene & you now know where you stand - you either have a mom & a dad, two moms or two dads. Plant your rooted clones in your outside spots - knowing deer, rabbits or bugs will damage or kill a couple. Just the price of growing outdoors... The upside is - Mothernature pay the light bill (the Sun), & waters (the Rain) your plants from time to time for you. . This way, if you end up with two dads, a hole growing season will not be wasted on a couple of pollen producers. If you end up with one of each, seed one clone to produce some seeds for next go round. . In closing, I'd also get some perlite to add in my soil for times when things are dry (helps hold water) and worm castings to mix in with my soil for the planting holes (provides trace minerals & good micro-beasties - aka - good bacteria & fungi). Everything else you have will work just fine - just read the lablels & follow the directions. . Hope this helps.... Keep it Real...Organic...... Last edited by Ohsogreen; 10-26-2008 at 12:18 AM.. |

appreciate the advice. growing them indoors first would save a lot of time. But where i live i cant grow inside. I have to travel by boat to a remote location next to a lake. All of the it ,from growing to cloning will be done outside, and after the last frost. Hopefully i will get some more seeds over the next few months so I'm not relying on only 2. But i have high hopes for them. I grow before the same way(in the swamp), but didnt clone any. I had a good amount of seeds. chemical ferts burned my plants last time, never had a problem with bugs though,so going 100% organic.

I plant beans indoors during the winter.
Let them get to the 5th node or bigger, then leave them outside (mild were I live, zone 9) for about three weeks to sex. Then let them either bud or bring them inside again and regenerate, then clone. Nothing wrong with growing other plants as well like beans and peas when spring arrives, good practice. |
