"velcomemite"
Vermiculite?

Vermiculite retains water.....
This soil needs to be amended to reduce the CEC as much as possible in my opinion. Retains water pretty well

I would have to echo what everybody else said.... I would not reccomend miracle grow organic. It cost me at least as much( think more than especialy considering it doesn't come with any perlite in it or worm castings or bat guano ) at home depot as ocean forest did at the hydro store. Plus it is enriched with alot more goodies like worm castings, guano, etc...

That being said, i can also read.... and trust you have finalized your decision (possibly even already bought the soil... Exactly what I did)

I used miracle grow organic. Chicken litter looked to be the base for enrichment... Good to start nitrogen... Dry chicken manure is 4-4-1.5

Granted, I used about 30%Worm castings with mine, but I also used a shit ton of perlite and sand with mine and I couldn't get drainage to save my life. Err on the side of dry soil and have to water more often I would say.

I found my plants became a bit deficient pretty quick. Make sure you use the teas early and often. Read up on that teas are ez and cheap thread.

Bone meal is a great amendment. Good slow release. The guy who taught me (who is a 20 year plus indoor organic grower/breeder) still swears by supersoil amended with plentiful amounts of bone meal and kelp meal, dressed with nitrogen bat guano for veg and seabird guano for flowering.

There are lots of ways to get to the harvest. i think if you dial in your nutrients, make sure you account for your micronutrients, calcium and magnesium (well covered by dolomite lime) and keep your ph in check, you should be fine. Be sure not to overwater, as it is a much bigger phuck up than underwatering.... Thus again the good idea to keep your soil draining well....

I have also read interesting things about volcanic pumice. I have heard it helps drainage, yet also increases C(ation)E(xchange)C(apacity).... I was told by the previous mentioned person that it in theory aids in the growth of beneficial bacteria.... something about the little cracks and crevaces in it.

Wow.... I just keep on typing

<too many of these tonight
