Default Ocean Forest soil.....
im using Earth juice and after brewing, it has a ph about 4. Now i have Ocean Forest soil, it has Oyster shells to help ph. From what ive read, there should be lime or dolomite lime to help stabilize the ph.

Is the oyster shell just a better organic product ???

.
Halzey68.... The pH of your nutes is a little low (acidic). It's easy to correct, just drop two teaspoons of dolimite lime into your nute mix. Let is sit overnight or bubble overnight. Check you pH, it should bring it up to around 5.8 to 6.1 If, the pH is still below 5.8, repeat the process, but only use one teaspoon of dolimite lime this time.
.
Once you hit 5.8 to 6.1 you are there. Water in you feed mix, just like you always do. The Ocean Forest Soil, is top notch stuff. I do agree with adding 20 to 25 percent pertilite to it. Oyster shells are just another organic amendment, similar in action to dolimite lime. Both will get the job done and don't cost much. Some people prefer one, some the other.
.
Hope this helps....

Adding lime to your EJ nutes would probably work to speed up the process of increasing ph, however it isn't necessary, if you let your nutes sit with an air stone in them (always a good idea, anyhow) the ph will slowly rise and after about 48 hours it should be right around where you want it. This is really the best way to use EJ; making it into a nutrient tea gets it ready to be absorbed more readily by your plants. Also for those times where you may not be able to wait 24-48 hours EJ makes a very stable organic ph up that you can mix in to instantly get the nutes up to your desired ph.

Default ph 4 AFTER brewing for 48 hours
yep, after i brew it for 48 hours its still only a 4. ive been using GH ph up and bringing it up to a 6 just before i feed. Ill add some ph up, bubble the brew for another 1/2 hour and recheck.

What about baking soda for ph up?

Baking soda works just fine. I'm suprised that you are still at 4 after 48 hours though, it doesn't usually take me more than 48 hours to get it up to a decent ph level. Are you using aged water?

Default aged water.....
actually, you could say i am. i fill a 20 gallon can with about 15 gallons of water and aireate it for at least 36 hours to remove chlorine,flouride,ect... this can gets filled every 14 days or so. i do clean it everytime i refill it. i use this for my mix.
