Default FOX FARM 100% Organic
Im setting up a simple grow as an experiment and i was wondering if i where to use Foxfarm Ocean Forest poting soil for the first month and a half of veg it should have enough nutes to go good right?

Then when i switch to flower i will use Foxfarm Big Bloom.
This calls for 100% organic.

Should do fine right?

DJMendoza..... Ocean Forest is an excellent bagged soil. It will carry you until the sixth week. During the 3 to 6 week period, I'd water with a unsulphured molasses mix (one ounce to one gallon of unchlorinated water) to ensure Mary gets all the N she wants & a little extra K.
.
Then on week six, top dress two teaspoons of High P Bat Guano, so it can start breaking down (it takes time). The day you flip the lights, start your bloom formula. If at any point, upon until serious flowering, you notice the lower leaves starting to fade to yellow - use the molasses mix to shore up your plants.
.
Hope this helps....

------FFOF is IMO the best of the best!! It's pricey too! I 've been using nothing but ffof for over 2 yrs...as well as all of ff's nutes and macro's. I 've followed there schedules and experimented around a bit. If your strictly staying organic stay away from tiger bloom and grow big and the macros.
I 've never needed to use the grow big in veg, probobly because if they were in 24/0 more than 3-4 weeks I had to transplant them anyway, which I always do a week or 2 before going to 12/12. I start in 16oz solo, to 1 gal, finish in 3gal.......
And enough cant be said about Big Bloom.....It is probobly one of the best all around organic nutes on the market, IMO, and a great stress reliever.
I 've used Big Bloom from about 3 weeks in veg all the way through to flush, every other watering for many cycles now with very noticable improvements----it's not a sole "bloomer" like their bloomers with inorganics are(TigerBloom, beastie, and ChaChing). Read up on what's in it!
I am not strictly 'organic' so I am sure ohsogreen knows what he's saying about adding for N(I usually end up dosing once or twice in 12/12 in the 2nd-3rd wk w/Grow Big--the only time I ever need it) @1/4 dose and the other inorganics must cover for the "high P bat guano" he says to use......
I am about to do my 1st run of 100% organics using FFOF and a trio of great sounding nutes that I just recieved from Blue Mountain Organics for inexpensive(read about them here in the organics section Organic Plant Stimulant - BMO Super Plant Tonic ). Infact, if I remember right, it's ohso's thread..........

Great Luck to you!!!

High Phosphorus Bat Guano is what I meant by High P. Look for some in the range of 0-4-0 to 0-7-0. Don't buy that stuff that has numbers like 1-12-1. I'll tell you why. Those numbers represent the P that is immediately available. All High P Bat Guanos will still have between double and triple the soluble number, in insoluble P. It would normally break down slowly over the course of a few months. But ! You have OF soil The myco fungi in the OF soil will help break it down a little faster - in the window of a month or maybe 5 weeks - so you must go easy on the guano - your soil is going to make sure Mary gets it all. So, 0-7-0 in your soil, really means 0-14-0 to 0-21-0 within 5 weeks. Resist the temptation to shovel it on, it's very powerful stuff.
.
Mixing a myco fungi product with the molasses mix & bubbling it with a cheap aquarium air pump & stone - will bioconvert the molasses in to a very soluble nute for Mary. There are several good products out there like Plant Sucess, Myco Magic, Sub-culture and Super Plant Tonic. All will get the job done. If you do this, just give each plant one quart of this mix each, on your watering only week. Not on your fertilizing week (which should be every two weeks).
.
Hope this helps...
