Thanks for the help guys. I used some bottled water for the spt. I found out my water supply has clorine and cloramite in it. Probably just get bottled water once a week to mix the spt. Ph down is safe to use with the spt too right? (bottled water ph was 8.5).

I always use distilled water and its ph is 6.0

420MED..... pH down is safe to use with SPT. If the bottled water you are using is around 8.5, mix it with SPT as per the label. It will not be 8.5 for long. I bet the SPT will bring it down, at least, to a 7. Mix it, wait 15 minutes then test the pH. If it's 7 or above, use the pH down. If it's under 7, no worries..... anything between 5 and 6.8 is a good range for SPT.
