The Cascades Virtual Compassion Center is a fully interactive site, based on the premise that "Compassion is a community event!" If the link above doesn't work, copy and paste this into your browser address bar: http://www.member.mycompassioncenter.com

Simply stated, we are a new site that is built on anonymity, which allows our members free access to everything from forums to classifieds (we even have a live chat system). We assist in all OMMP participant needs, and hope to help our members achieve a better quality of life.

Since the site is fully sponsored by a local business, we will never ask for donations, or any other forms of payment to the site itself.

Additionally, our site permits the registered users to post blogs, page content, and more. We just want other people to come check us out and help us build our community.

In conclussion; we would like to especially invite those OMMP participants who would be interested in taking up a position in the management of the site to register and then send Shadow-Hawk, our web master, an email through the site contact form and tell him about how you would like to help out the management of the site- We have reporters positions available, moderators positions, and more. Go check it out.

Wow, I guess people really have been stung and stuck by a lot of places over the years. I was hoping for more of a response than this. Come on folks, ask questions, open up the debate here.

This site was started because a few people got tired of having to contribute to things just so they could get some help. It requires no money- EVER. And it's built on the idea of people working together.

I have only been involved with OMMP for 6 months now and from what i can see its not worth helping, the OMMP in Oregon needs to be redone its not working!...Most people in OMMP cant grow and only get swag meds or crap tink and medabales. Most of the so called help groups are scams and full of crooks AND THIEFS..They say they teach people to grow for them self but none of them know how to grow...The one big thing left out of OMMP is how are people going to get good meds?..Good growers are not going to put up with all the shit in OMMP they dont have too, they have been around long befor OMMP and will be around long after.Lots of growers tried to get in to OMMP GROUPS only to be robbed and taken from so they are gone now and those groups will be gone soon also..

In the two-years I've been around; I've seen some of the issues you are speaking of here; although, most of the problems I see relate more to the idea of anyone who is in a group is looking to make a living at it. That's not what the OMMP was setup as, and that is the part I want to change with this virtual group.

The way I see it, it's not the OMMA that is corrupted; granted, it needs a lot of growth and positive development, but it isn't corrupted- that has happened with the groups that everyone has tried to build so they could make a living off those who need the help.

As for the association with growers that know what they are doing; I guess I'm one of the lucky few that has had the priveledge of working with a few that have been growing longer than I've been alive- and that is saying something. But this is the group of people I am talking about that have helped me to get this far, and they are the core group that wants to get this new site running. They actually want to help real participants in the OMMA.

Me, I'm just a guy who knows web-building, and makes a living with it- my enjoyment here is the fact that I might get to help build something that will actually make a difference. But, I need help and real input from the actual people in the OMMP.

The way I was hoping this would go is that I could post a few things out here and attract some new members to the site who would get involved and help take it by the reigns. So far, that hasn't happened. But I welcome anyone who has questions, even the pointed ones about how they were screwed before and what we are doing differently.

Simply put, I just want to make something work, but I can't do it alone- If we, (the OMMP participants) want something different, then we have to build it- here's the start, anyone here willing to help?

I see what they where trying to do with OMMP..BUT IT COST MONEY TO GROW MEDS IN THE NORTHWEST...And no one in OMMP wants to pay there growers to grow for them,or buy meds in the open market. And that is not working because growers have other markets to get rid of there meds. And the OMMP is left with the poor and we all know what the poor get in life..I am not saying this is right or wrong this is just how i see it!

I wholly agree with you- and that is the core purpose of this site- Help those who need the help, build a community that can effect change in the system by sheer numbers, and create an environment where the OMMP can work for the benefit of all its participants.

Let's face it, we can't create the perfect scenario, but we can build a community that can make a functional system that benefits the participants of the program, instead of one that benefits the masterminds or the state.

Although, we aren't going to get anywhere if no-one wants to get it started, or help carry it further. This is the opportunity for anyone to become involved and help, at no expense to them. Believe me, I know the expense of growing, handle four of my own patients. But the point here is, this community I want people to come join is the same thing as this forum, but has more available in it to the members, and that is where I'm hoping to start.

From there, ideas will form, plans can be built, and actions can formulate action. Let's just start small, with people joining and getting to talk together in the forums and the live chat system. Forming a community is a process. This one has the added benefit of help in over 60 years of growing experience (and that is whats on the site now), people who will help answer questions concerning the OMMA, and even help others with forms for the program- (Those are available for free download here. The list of benefits goes on and on. But the best part is, it's FREE! We just need people who want to be moderators, reporters, and so on to help build the site.

Maybe I need to clarify what it is we are doing at this site. http://www.member.mycompassioncenter.com

The Cascades Virtual Compassion Center is an open platform specifically built to bring together those individuals who are patients, growers, caregivers and advocates of the medical uses of marijuana. We are the first site of our kind. While you will find many sites and groups throughout the internet that are built to further the cause, we are the only one built with the intentions of the entire community being the ones who design the content as well as the direction of the community as a whole.

In short, we believe that the common public knowledge of cannabis is greatly lacking in truth, validity, and the populous of our country alone is in great need of truth when it comes to the medicinal purposes of marijuana.

Yes, our initial setup is designed to attract those whose residency is in the state of Oregon; simply because that is the base of our operation, and to keep things protected, we are following the advice of legal counsel. However, that does not mean that we are restricting our membership to only Oregonians.

Our system is built in three layers. The first of which is an open platform that is intended to maintain the majority of the community. These are people from around the country, and around the globe. Within this sector of our community, we will find the largest contribution of insight, and popular beliefs to act on- Bluntly stated, our open community is that which gives us direction and helps to populate the site with content and activities.

The second layer of our site is currently setup for Oregon Medical Marijuana Program participants; however, it is this layer that will grow to include other state programs as well. It is this layer that provides for the legal protection of our entire systems membership rolls. As long as we have one member registered as a valid OMMP card holder, our records are sealed and fall under the protection of the ORS 475.331 (Oregon State statute)- thus, a non-disclosure is in effect for all agencies of authority. Each state that legally functions in a medical marijuana program has a specific agency available for the proper authorities to contact regarding verifications that they may need. In such, the above law stipulates that our membership rolls are not for that purpose. Any agency requiring such information must go the the appropriate agency within the state for any information.

With that said, our goal is to define ourselves as a viable asset to the medical marijuana programs throughout the US, and build our membership, and our services to incorporate the entire country. To do this, we must first establish a base community that can manage, direct, and supervise the community. We want that governing body to be from within the ranks of the community itself. That is also why you will find that we are opening applications to the membership for those roles, and advertising on the site that we need people to fill various positions within the community.

Additionally, for those members of the community who live in other state jurisdictions; as we find members who are willing to commit to building the system in their state, we will commit our resources to establishing the same membership benefits to those other states as well.

Finally, the third layer of our system is the system administration, or the executive branch of the legal entity of Cascades Virtual Compassion Center. As time continues to move the community further ahead, it is obvious that our company will have to expand into other states, and likewise, it will have to be built with physical brick and mortar locations. We hope to accomplish this by bringing those who are fundamental in the community and bring them into the business end of the system.

In conclusion, folks, we have an idea, and a direction to travel that centers around the idea of taking like-minded people, specifically those who are involved, or who want to be involved, in the medical marijuana programs, and bring them together as a community to help each other, bring about change in the system, and positively effect the attitude and education of our greatly misguided population.

That is also the reason we placed our community at http://www.mycompassioncenter.com It may be starting in Oregon, but it is for the entire country- we just need to build it that direction and the only way that is going to happen is if YOU, the participants from every state get involved and give the direction needed.

Just thought I would give an update:

Sent off information to NORML- an national organization, hopefully we will get some much needed help here, and some real involvement to help generate and setup direction for our new site-

I anticipate some major leaps forward in the near future.

Where I will agree, I have a lot to learn still, but I am seeking help to get this going from everywhere because obviously, there aren't that many actual participants that want to get this off the ground.

Most of these people are SSI & Welfare people they never have done any thing in life and they never will. You have to remember this isnt Calif....Oregon OMMP is not set up like CALIF...In Calif the only reason people join the MM program is so they can go into clubs and pick from 100 strains of pot to buy..In Oregon the clubs only get crap weed because they dont want to pay growers for the good top shelf and the growers have other places to sale it so they bag the clubs. So all you get in Oregon clubs is a place you have to pay to get your OMMP card, pay to join the club and get crap weed...why would people do that?

And that is the reason this virtual compassion center is being built- I've seen the exact same thing in every club, every compassion center in the state, and I personally am sick of it.

I understand that a club, or a center needs to fund certain things, but where I have the biggest part of my problem is when they charge people for things that they get free- like filling out forms.

I started this site on my own, and found the money to host it elsewhere. My whole thought was to setup a system that allows people to communicate and work together to help educate, inform, and direct others. We'll never completely get rid of the flakes in society, and thus, we'll never get them out of the system here, but this is a way to change the knowledge base of the OMMP participants, and its free. I don't want any money- got that from my sponsor.

I would like to see the day come where it's common knowledge that this brick pot is not medicinal, and that there are more ways to medicate than to smoke till you're couch-riddin. I think it's rediculous when a patient has to start their interview off with, "I need four zips a month." What??? either you're selling, or you have never had real meds!

its not a club of any sort really, it is a compassion center and i only go when i want to try a new strain cuz who wants to be smoking the same stuff for a year, i mean its ok to but i like a variety and my grower only had 2 witch is ok cuz he is such a good guy and good grower. and they also carry seeds, and clones and other stuff.
and i DID grow chronic nugs, i can admit they werent the best of all time but i can admit it is alot better then alot of weed growers give theri patients and it satisfied me with dealing with pain. and im not talking shit about any one here. and the name is ommp compassion center, its located in grants pass oregon next to 7/11 on 5th street and again it is not a club. and why would i give meaning full info on it to you guys if your all up north im sure they got some up theri, if some one on here was from gp or close by and asked for info then i would give it to them. and i dont feel special i was just saying what was in my city cuz all i see is people complaining about the centers and prices of stuff for shit meds, so i was saying this one is not like that. and i never said it was a soup kitchen that i go to all the time, ive been one time to trade a few ozs so i could have a variety and mabye find a strain that deals with pain better then what i have now. ive been theri once since it opened a few months ago. and sorry im not lazy and dont know why you would say that if you dont know me, but ok.
and the only reason the oregon section is like that is cuz people came in and theri first post is all bad mouthing other sites and people and then getting mad when others here say they like it. they are the spammers, like jeff, topshelf.
smoke some weed man and chill out you getting all but hurt for no reason
