House and Garden Shooting Powder.......

Yep... Crazy orange powder. Looks like you're giving your plants soda. You can nuke your plants with it if you're not careful. If I remember right we blasted them at week 6 for an 8 week plant. I honestly don't know if I liked it or not. It sped up the plants almost. Plant crack. I had concerns about them finishing properly. The plants were doing too much at once. Finishing and mass new growth at the same time. I almost felt like quality was suffering for more weight.

I just prefer the why and hows, not the feelings.
I use a bit of silica, yet I can't really prove my hypothesis that it is actually making my plants more self supporting. Observational, I think it does, but I haven't really figured out how to carry out a more empirical evidence based test to try and prove it disprove it. Still thinking of something, but it may be a while, perhaps a tension test but it would need to be very precise and kill lots of clones.

Just think about how and why things do what they do.

... and what is this based on? Sounds like an ad, their website doesn't claim that and the ingredients listed wouldn't do that.

Not looking for shit, just wondering why people seen to "believe" things which simply aren't true.

Doing a large PK drop isn't necessarily the best thing at all. P isnt needed in high amounts and shouldn't be so outta whack with the N and K. K doesn't need to be super high either. Its important for flower but shooting powder doesn't even use potassium nitrate, which is more effective in flower.
You are telling me it does not do what I said it does? The point of your argument is that I believe hype and am wasting money? There is also a resistance to all things outside your way that makes me distrust your conclusions. I would try it to spite yourself and see what you think.....

I base my practices, as do other growers on science, and the processes that work in biology.

Why would anyone do any differently is beyond me. How a plant works is not a very controversial process or up in debate amongst scientists. Still tons to learn about practices and processes, but the fundamentals are well explained.

Do whatcha do, just don't trout on stage making claims without supporting facts.

I think you are taking this a bit seriously. I respect your input and love of empirical data, this is nothing but my endorsing a product that I can vouch for. Just, don't let it upset you.

It adds weight for sure. 100% sure. Side by side comparisons. But... Like I stated earlier I don't know if I liked the results. BUT... I didn't own the grow. The owner wanted weight and weight she got.

The fact is that it works really well. Period.

Hey not upset, actually enjoying the conversation otherwise I wouldn't even try.

I just think if more people understood the fundamentals (not claiming ya don't) and what makes a plant do its thing, the better, more problem free grows we'd all be having.

Take for instance my question, I'd want to try and the most controlled environment, taking into consideration factors like light distribution and ensuring the controls had the exact same treatment as the test subjects.

Could the weight have came anyways under a more balanced fertilizer or perhaps even have less? Just points to consider

It's interesting to me that there is a groupthink here whereby people know I am just wasting money on something they know nothing about. No offense, but it is foolish to dismiss based on presumptions. The product works, I have used it many times and I would love to somehow show you but that is not happening. The bottom line is that I want more weed and I get what I want. I heard this all before about Silica, bennies, and fulvic acid and in time the skeptics would come around. What people need is to be fair and objective or they are the suckers.
Actually, I said I was sceptical but would believe it if results from a comparison test grow proved it worked.

That is very fair and objective.

repeating 'it works' but showing no result comparisons is worthless.

Advertising and wishful thinking can distort perception.
It's not just the emperor who wears no clothes - some growers see improvements that aren't there.
If they were there they could be shown with empirical data.

I respect that. I don't have the proof you seek on hand so I can't give you that. There are always impossible standards people set for proof while on the web, I get it all the time.

That wasn't meant to be condescending. And no, to make or asset a fact or truth, one needs to provide evidence and you are mucking up the roles. I can claim I get 3 lbs in a 400 watt lamp, prove me wrong. see how ridiculous that is? That is not the scientific process,

Also correlation is not causation.

The plants that got powder yielded 10 to 20 percent more weight. But... I thought the buds were nicer on the plants that did not get powder. So.... A trade off. When you're harvesting 10 to 15 pounds a week that 10 or 20 percent adds up. Guess you guys can take that however you like. That's just facts.

You are making this about what you need to. The science I am concerned with here is gravity, if you are preoccupied with my labwork than you are missing my observations and conclusions. The targeting of bloom boosters as a whole when the thread was specific to one just seems like desperate argument. I like to share and if that is bullshit than so it goes....what is true remains despite you.

I haven't seen any lab work, side by side, nothing.
And anyone should always question methodology of a claim. That's how science works

I've used it. It works. It has a very noticeable effect. I don't grow with synthetic nutes anymore but if I did I would include shooting powder.

I am not preforming lab work on the subject anymore. You can take my word for it and the 2 others above or not but I don't have physical evidence for you professor. You are right for questioning any claim but be a bit realistic. Good luck.
