Question shop light

I came across a 400w shop light like the one below...

....only older and used
from the id plate it tells me it takes a m59mh400 lamp ,mh meaning metal halide???(fingers crossed)
this is where i got confused
the bulb that is in it is a sylvania 400w hg m59s m406u does the hg mean halogen?
basically what im asking is can i grow with this thing ? if so what kinda bulb should i be useing?
