This is my second year growing. Last year I got all males. This year I planted all the seeds I had in order to increase my chances of getting female, but a flood wiped out all but two of my plants. Nonetheless, God is good and as you can see from the pictures, I think they are both turning out female!

That is a great thing! However, I used all my remaining seeds this year and I was hoping to get some females *and* males so as to pollinate and get more seed. (I hate ordering seeds in the mail, it gets me nervous)

I'm probably going to have to order more seeds down the road, but I figured I'd ask if anyone knows of any way for me to get pollen so I don't have to. Someone told me to put a bag over one of the branches randomly so the light cycle is screwed up and it goes hermaphrodite. That could work, but the plants are way back in a swamp and I don't go there very often. Any other way you can think of?

The plants are Afghan, by the way. They are about 28" tall right now, and in 3 gallon pots. I'm planning on putting them in the ground this weekend and starting the bloom nutes. I'm very excited because I've never had indica. I decided to grow so I could try indica, and if all keeps going well in a month or two I'll have some of my very own home grown!

why not just kill the males and clone the females?

I'm growing outside (in a wildlife refuge), and it freezes here in the winter. The clones (or mother) would not make it to next season, so I need seeds.

I would need to have growing lights and clones in my home in order to clone. In my state, if the police catch you growing in your home they can and will take your home and your property. It's just not worth that risk to me... knowing me there would be a false fire alarm or something while I was gone and next thing I know I'm not only in jail, but I don't even have a home or property anymore!

Worst that usually happens outside (off my property) is that they pull up the plants. If they do bust you outside, they can't take your home or property.

i see. i dont know much about purposely getting seeds unless you want alot...then you dont have to worry about how many males you have compared to females. maybe someone can come in here and give you an idea of many seeds you'll get from one male.

not actually from a male i mean how many seeds he could get from keeping one male around.

That is more dependent on number of females you have around. A small amount a pollen goes a loooong way.

if you leave the male with the female you will hav thousands of seads go to growfaq it will explain the bag over a stem trick you can put pollen on just 1 branch and put a bag over it and thats the only bud that will hav seads

I think you have misunderstood my question. I have *no* males. Yet I want pollen. All I have is females. All my plants got flooded and killed except two, and they have turned out to be females.

So now my problem is that I have only females, but I want seeds for next year. I was told that if I put a bag over a branch of one of my females at random times (to mess up the light cycle for that branch), then after a while (days?, weeks?) the branch will go "hermaphrodite" from the stress and will grow both male and female flowers. So by doing that, in theory, I could get pollen (and then seeds) even though I only have two female plants.

I'm wondering if anyone else has heard that this is true. I'm also wondering if there is any other way to get pollen, because my plants are way out in the woods and it would be hard to get out there even once every day to randomly put a bag on a branch at random times.
