Default how to make a mount for CFL and extension cord?
using just household materials, how can you mount a CFL bulb with Y adapter and an extension cord? Can you just cut up a plastic bottle etc.? I just want something to hold the bulb upright.

pretty simple problem, but i have this innate ability to really over complicate things and not find the simplest solution.

use a power bar and either duct tape or wrap it to the top of your grow room or on a shelf that's adjustable (so you can raise it when the plants grow) and get some plug socket adapters and and your y adapter and your good to go.

something a little simpler. i just want something to stand a bulb upright and make sure it wont tip with a little shaking. i think maybe just like a gatorade bottle would be enough, but that might be hard for me to cut for ventilation

use a peice of strapping.. drill some holes in it and put the socket in through the hole then use a hot glue gun to make it stick there then all you have to do is put in a bulb and plug it in.. at least that's all i did..

Yer gd idea that's what i did to start with apart from i didn't use a hot glue gun cos i don't have one. Used some waterproof sealant stuff instead only a couple of £ for a tube full worked fine for me too. Like highwayman said just drill a hole thread your wire though then wire your socket back on and glue the bulb holder in place.
